That feeling of relief ... First, sorry this is so long, but ... There's nothing better than that feeling of relief you get when your baby has been sick and you begin to see the first signs that he/she is feeling better. I've had a nervous couple of days, as Archie came down with an unknown ailment which caused him to scream in pain for (seemingly) no reason. It seemed to be connected to his mouth at first, as he cried out if I put my fingers in his mouth. He also was trembling, which he does when he is in pain. And his usually wiggly little tail was tucked under his tushy. I had a nervous night before I could get him in to the vet the next morning and it just killed me to see him looking so forlorn and in pain. Well, long story short, the vet couldn't find anything wrong, except that his left eye (on the side of the pain) had a little discharge. The diagnosis was "trauma" and she gave him eye drops and an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Well, he was pretty mopey most of today, just laying around, his tale still tucked and looking sad. But as evening came on, he started to look better: eyes bright, tail up, wanting to play and eating a good dinner. I just got a lump in my throat when I began to see signs of "My Babe" coming back. Gosh, I love him so much -- and it's so hard to see him suffering. But I'm, SO RELIEVED to see tonight that he seems to be on the mend. |
Aw...poor little guy! I am so glad to hear he's on the mend. It is so worrisome when you don't know what's wrong. |
I'm so glad Archie is doing better I know that was scary worrying about him. |

I am glad your guy is feeling better .I would be in tears if I thought My Suzi was in pain. I understand how you feel about your yorkie . Because I love my Puppy very much. :aimeeyork |
Oh, I'm so glad he's better; Joey had a scratched cornea, that didn't have any symptoms besides no appetite, which is a biggy for Joey, and the fact that he couldn't open his eye fully. This made me so anxious knowing that the vet said it was very painful, but if he had screamed out in pain, I think I would have about died. I know your relationship with Buddy is super close, and know how difficult this was for you. Joeys pain seem relieved as soon as we began using the ointment and I hope this is true for Buddy too. I am so thankful that we have doctors and medicine that can help these little guys. |

When they get sick and especially not knowing exactly what is going on is the scariest feeling....:( I'm so glad to hear that Archie is better...and, now you can be better too!:) |
I am so glad Archie appears to be on the mend. Whose idea was it anyway not to teach people "doggie-speak" so we could tell what was wrong when they don't feel well? |
I'm glad to hear Archie is feeling better. It is always so hard to see and animal in pain, and sometimes not knowing what is wrong makes it even tougher. :( |
Ooohhh no ... the poor Furbutt .... hope he is doing better !!! |
I'm so glad he's feeling better! What strange symptoms. I'd have been terrified. |
Glad he is feeling better. |
I am so relieved that your Archie is feeling better after the eyedrops. Maybe like the others said he scratched his eye on something and boy they can be painful. I had a scratched cornea and it was bad. I know that when our babies are feeling sick we are beside ourselves in wanting their pain to go away. Especially when we can't help them and we have to wait for the vet. Whew...glad that Archie is on the mend.:D |
No happier feeling than a sick doggie getting better! |
I'm so glad Archie is better. How on earth did he get into a traumatic situation? |

I have no idea how this "trauma" happened. He's very busy around the house, so no telling what he got into, fell off of, I don't know. I just hope it was a freak accident, blip on the radar, and that this goes away for good! |
Oh dear, poor sweet Buddy. I'm pleased he is improving.. hate to thing of my little friend being in pain. Sheilagh |

Oh goodness, I'm so glad little Archie is doing better now. You are so right that it is so hard to watch our little furbabies suffer. They really are like babies during those times because they have such a hard time letting us know what the trouble is. I'm glad your heart is feeling better now that Archie is on the mend. Keep us updated on his progress! |
Oh Man! I is so stressful when our little ones are sick when the vet can diagnosis the problem, but then they are sickand the doctors are clueless, it is very very stressful. I have been there, done that a couple of times and I feel your pain and your joy. |
Glad your boy is feeling better! |
