I am so ANGRY! :mad:So i took hank (my four month old yorkie-poo) to the groomer. I wanted her to give him a sanitary cut and to trim his hair. I even showed her the amount i wanted her to take off. And i made sure she didnt have to use the clippers. Well and hour later when i come to pick him up...she SHAVED him! SHAVED him. I cried so hard. I loved his little puff ball hairdoo. But not anymore. He's halfway bald. I could still cry. I need some supportive words. Oh and i had talked my self into a better mood by tellin myself it wont take long to grow back. Well that comfort was trampled on by my husband who looked at him and said, "His old hair was so much cuter. It will take forever to grow back." uggggg!!!!! |
Nahhhhhh....it doesn't take that long for their hair to grow back. He will be able to sport the cute "puppy cut" in no time. I'm sure sorry about the groomer not listening to you but I have heard this exact story so many times here on YT. I know others will be able to share their experiences. Your baby is your baby and let's face it, we've all experienced the bad haircut....so now's the time to grab those really cute clothes and let him model them til you feel better about his "do." Will you post some pics for us so we can tell you how precious and adorable her is even with his buzz cut? I am certain he is an absolute doll. Hugs. |
OMG! I feel so bad! Ranger just got hacked too and I could still cry! We can be in a support group together while we wait for them to grow out! Its gonna be ages before his top knot grows back out |

I had it happen to me, and the groomer told me it was because they ahd a hard time with her. i should of brought her in more often. Maybe so but don't do a job not wanted unless you check first. When we get our hair cut they won;t cut it short enough if they don't understand exactly what you want. |
I guess you have to learn by your mistakes love. Take him to a different groomer next time. Mine comes to the house so I can tell her as she's going on. I'm sure he looks just as cute, and his hair will grow love. Hugs Shirl x x :animal-pa |
thats why I wont take our pup to a groomer, 8 months old an never had a hair cut, apart from a little trim here and there by me, Im waiting for clippers to arrive from England and a D V D giving me hints and tips on cutting, It may take a bit of practice but at least they will be my mistakes, (if its too bad we will hide indooors till it grows out he e ) |
I think the majority of yorkie owners have had the same experience. Once it happened it to my pups I switched groomers but I asked around to find a better groomer to. |
Thank You Thank you guys (i mean gals) so much. Ill post some new pictures of the buzz cut asap. thank you guys for the encouraging and supportive words!:) |
Just remember it WILL grow back. When stuff like that happens I always think it could of been way worse and I feel better. ( Their was a YT member on here that went to the groomer and they cut out a chunk of her pups ear :( ) I think when I get my pup I will groom her on my own. I would hate to see her changed physical or emotionally by a bad groomer. |

There was also another YT member that picked up her pup and the groomer had put a huge gash in his neck.:eek::eek: Yes, it could have been much much worse. Please post pics soon we can't wait to see him.:animal36 |
I'm so sorry sweetie :( I bet he's still adorable though. I'm going to learn to groom Abby and Daisy myself. So far weve been lucky, but I'm not taking any chances. I bet it grows back really FAST! |
I'm sorry! I bet he's still precious though. It won't take too long to grow back, don't worry! Did you pay the groomer? |
1 Attachment(s) Here's Bailey's first cut - we had the exact same experience. I wanted a puppy cut and got a shave :thumbdown We just made fun of her big ears until she grew back into them. All kidding asside - I was really upset! |
