I do not think anyone is saying that mixed bred dog or purebred dogs are not both equally beautiful, cute, adorable etc...I think that people, such as myself are worried about over-population of these animals which we all hold precious...Purebred or not... As for the dogs "value"...Wheter Sammi was 200 bucks or 1800 bucks I feel in love with her...Her "value" to me is not monetary...It it WAY WAY more than that...I think the whole "debate" to me is just people seeing what is in the shelters (mostly mixed breeds) and trying to prevent it from getting even more overpopulated... I hope I made some kinda sense...I have not had my coffee yet :) Fran and Sammi |

Even for the price there should be 1004 mixes and 2000$ mixes just like the pure bred puppies. clissified by quality. Of course by today's standards a pure bred at 100$ will probably be like my first yorkie (PEANUT) he has been spayed/neutered but that was a 350$ dog (Yorkshire Terrier) which I bought before starting this breeding. Over 14 years ago, he is HUGE!!!!! 15 pounds, trachea problems, hyp problems, luckyly no liver problems but not bred because brother died of liver shunt. We made the guy do DNA and it turns out his father was the son of his mother. (HIS BROTHER WAS ALSO HIS FATHER) Cost us a few hundred for DNA. This is when we got interested into getting a home kennel at first. And Peanut has lived a VERY LONG life considering all the issues he came with once he starts suffering (when trachea problems worsten) we will have no choice but to put him to sleep. JUST TO GIVE AN EXAMPLE ON HOW BAD A PURE BRED CAN BE AS WELL. I would send a picture but you do NOT want to see this.!!! Marc-o |

Just a small detail i am inquiring about Most breeds with NON shedding hair are hypo allergenic unless you are actually allergic to the mucus (spit) of the dog then I believe that they are. Even mixed with non shedding hair. (I read a few book's on this) It's been a while and this is to my knowledge of course if you know otherwise let me know. Mac-o! |
I thought you meant just a "mixed breed", not mixing breeds. In regard to what I originally thought (any Heinz variety) every single dog is an individual and a total mutt can be an awsome, healthy, loyal, intellegent friend for a lifetime. |

Thats what I thought too. But what I'm hearing now is that they are not 100 %hypoallergeic although people whom suffer from allergies to dogs have less problems from malt and yorkies. People whom are allergic to dogs are mostly having reactions to the dander and all dogs have have dander. Malts , yorkies, greyhounds and a few other breeds have less dander which some people tolerate better. |

Breeding ANY dog, mix or purebred, takes a home away from a dog in the pound or Humane Society. It is not a "waste of time" to breed a poodle and a maltese, imo, anymore than breeding two purebred dogs or a German Biewer and an American Parti. I love the look of a malti-poo. "Looks" seem to be what the purebred world is mostly about. These mixes are adorable so there is a "reason" for them. If the law is to change because of over population, it will not discriminate, all breeding will be regulated to control the population, not just "mixed breed" breeding. |

I just thought that comment was a bit harsh. |
