Great policy! It never ceases to amaze me people who claim to want a dog, but put no effort into educating themselves for everything involved or in this case is clueless about puppies! |
Amazing! I like your new policy now:D |
Boy that's a tough one. I'm on the other side of the fence where I don't have access to breeders and I have had to rely on contacts I found on the internet (I finally found a breeder at this forum). My husband and I are awesome dog people but I don't know how you could be sure of that just through phone/email conversations. |

Thats the cute thing about pups they are so lively. I hope that lady doesnt adopt any pups from anywhere. I would feel sorry for the pup. I know mine are 3 yrs old and sometimes I miss that puppy energy |
My new policy, If you won't let my dog kiss you on the lips then you can't have it. Jeannie, I think that's perfect for finding a forever home for any new pup:thumbup: It really is amazing how little people really know about puppyhood when searching for a puppy. I read it here all the time. Oh he ate my carpet, peed and pooped on the floor, dosent sit still so I can hold him. The best one is, why does my puppy bite my hands and toes all the time. Is he aggressive? You breeder's must see it all. You can't help feel sorry for the pup's who go to such homes. I would guess these are the one's who show up at rescues and ponds from time to time. They should have a TV reality show doing this very thing. They trials and tripulations of raising a puppy. They have one being shown now regarding teenagers raising babies. It certainly would save those from getting unwanted pups and the pups from getting into unwanted homes. I am so happy Blaze is still with you. Let's hope this young lady changed her mind about a pup and got a stuffed pup instead. |

Yes to the kiss requirement That is something i have long been in the practice of observing - not all my buyers come to the house before they are approved and have put their deposit on a baby and for those that don't come , i always talk to them on the phone at least a couple lengthy times - i have been fooled once in 24 years but i usually can tell right away if someone is giving me a bunch of BULL for the ones that come to the house and don't want a puppy to kiss them and go "eww" , i just quietly take the puppy back from them and explain that my baby is not for them as i know that if they don't like puppy kisses then they are going to HATE puppy poo  and therefore don't need to be bothered with taking a baby just to hate it -:eek: Believe me , I turn down a great many just based on that one thing and i have never been sorry . I only know of a very small number ( less than 5 ) puppies in this 24 years that have been rehomed or returned to me . So make rules that you can sort out the ones that have no business with a real live life, and loving trusting baby. I do and it works so i say Bless you for taking what she called "it" away and keeping her . I definitely don't sell "it"s either :D |
i agree you really have to be careful who you sell your puppies to.....and dont get me wrong i love my sweet Smokey to death and he kisses me all of the time...but i draw the line at the lips...not to say that i havent been doggy kissed on the lips....but not on purpose....i hold my head up and he kisses me on the chin or i turn my head and he kisses me on th check....2 reasons for not on the lips..... 1. i just dont like it 2. i dont want him kissing someone who comes into my home on the lips either |
I am a very sensitive person, probably too sensitive and never like to hurt anyone's feelings but I would have not had a problem at all telling her she did not need or would I sell her that puppy. She certainly didn't do her homework when it comes to yorkies. My breeder told me to hold Kayla with both hands they are so wiggly. I did not have a problem with that at all because I knew how yorkie's were even though this was our first. I appreciated the fact she was thinking of the puppies welfare. Now I always tell people that don't know to hold her with both hands. She is still a wiggle worm. Thank God she didn't want her or she would be in a shelter in less than a week. Be picky, those babies deserve good homes. |
