Kikki the Destroyer! Why is it that you can get every chew toy and bones there is on the market and they still like to chew thru wires, furniture, shoes, end of tables.. etc. Well My little Girl has done that.. I was chatting online and all the sudden my computer went black. I looked down (she was sitting right beside me) and there she was... chewing away on my cords.. I had to get my hubby's and use his now till I can get more tomorrow. So far in a week she has chewed thru my computer wires, our surround sound wires, two end tables ends, coffee table, end of a new couch, one shoe of my husbands, lol... We have all kinds of chew toys for her.. and rawhides.. nylabones.. you name it.. she still wants the good stuff! Think I will change her name to Kikki the Destroyer! :p |
Add a chair leg to it now! I think her middle name will be Destroyer now.! She chewed on a chair leg now.. I tried the bitter apple spray-it doesn't phase her one bit. Lol.. I think she is sharpening her teeth on everything so she can try something more harder than wood! hehe |
hahaha she is too cuteeee..thankfully martini never got into the habit of bitting anything but her toys and treats...i wish i could give u advice but i dont even know what to say |
Oh they will chew/eat ANYTHING! I would be very concerned about her wire chewing habit though. Not to scare you, but a very good friend of mine lost her yorkie at Christmas time because she chewed through one of the wires for the Christmas tree, and she was found dead due to electrocution. SInce then, I went through the whole house and bought wire keepers so they are no longer exposed. You can never be too careful!! |

Maybe she was telling you that she wants more attention from you!:D No more computer, Mom. |
Walmart sells these white plastic covers that you pull over your wires and it covers them up. I bought them because my human baby has learned to crawl and it keeps the cords out of his grasp. Then we got the puppy a month ago and Ive found that it keeps them out of HER grasp too! You might want to invest in some - they just might save her life. |
chewing Does anyone know if yorkies ever get out of chewing on furniture, wires, shoes, well, everthing? My yorkie, Max is six months old and still chews everthing. I love him dearly, but my family is getting angry at him for destoying everything. Any suggestions? |
You have to be careful with that ..... it may be funny now ... but not after something happened ..... and trust me things happen faster then you think .....:( |
Mine only chewed a tiny bit. I never took my eyes off of her. Everytime I'd catch her I'd tell her no and hand her one of her things. She never attempts to chew on anything but what's hers. I think I'll count my blessings now and hope she doesn't make a liar out of me!! |
chewing In reply, I was not being funny, I really am worried about his safety.:animal-pa |
TJ chewed one of the cords to my camera. It was my fault because I wasn't watching him.. he was asleep under my feet.. and I should have been watching him. After that.. I put the wires up where he could not reach them.. and blocked off the area where it plugged in. It took some time, but he never bothers them anymore. But still keep them up. I bought him some teething rings for dogs and put them in the freezer to chill. He loves chewing on them.. The best thing I ever bought for him were the Kong toys you put something inside.. they love them. and it keeps them out of trouble. |
chewing Thanks. I'll try the Kong toys.:animal-pa:animal-pa |
Jack has rounded the corners on the grandfather clock, enjoyed a very nice pair of lime green Merrell sandals, and has learned how to be a paper shredder. When he was 5 mos old we knew that he came with the chipper/shredder attachment when we came home and he had brought in a 6" square of turf from the backyard and disected it in the living room. |
When Emmy was little she spent about a year chewing off electrical plugs. She would bite them off the cord with about 1/2 inch of cord left on the plug. If I had collected them I probably would have had 25. Nothing in our house could be plugged in. Thank goodness my husband knows enough about plugs and electricity to replace the plugs.Emmy also chewed on the ends of furniture and she had every toy you could imagine. It made no difference. I too tried the Sour Apple spray. She liked the taste. Her favorite was to chew off the plug on the vacuum cleaners. |
