S'anah's hair *sigh* This is yet another post with me whining about the Poopanut's hair. The hair on her front legs is gorgeous. If all her hair looked like that I would be happy. The hair on her tail is thin, but pretty and falls over her back very beautifully. The hair on her back legs is also thin, but still not too bad. The REST of hair, however, is thin and hardly growing at all. She is over a year old now and it is still barely below her tummy and it is very thin. The hair on her head is very thin and very short - like MAYBE an inch long except for on little twig that hangs down over her nose. I just don't know what else to do. I guess the poor Poopanut is doomed to look like a dorky yorkie forever. |
I just wanted to add that I love S'anah and think she's beautiful no matter what her hair does (or doesn't do). The only reason I'm just a little disappointed is because I've been really looking forward to her hair getting long so I could braid it like a Spy Girl. LOL |
haha Well i can tell you that my boy Kuma i keep him short but thats mainly cause he is daddy's boy and his dad says he needs to look like a boy so no top knot, clothes or anything fun ;) for him, but with my Kaylee girl she is 5months and her hair is still changing but was never long and like you said thin, but with summer here and in the 90s we got her a puppy cut so she can enjoy her time outside specially when she is running around like a mad women at the dog park, after summer looking foward to letting her grow out so i can get her looking all girly!!!!! |

One thing I recommend is Eicosaderm by Dermapet. It is a fish oil/vitamin E supplement that really does make a huge difference in coat growth. I've been using it since October and it has helped Lacy's hair so much, and Rylie's is really growing. Other YT members have said great things about it too. Here's a link to it DermaPet Eicosaderm 8 fl oz (240 ml) - 2240 |
S'anah doesn't have enough hair even for a puppy cut. If I had her cut at all she'd be bald! Thanks for that link. I'm going to try that. I would settle for medium length hair! Lacy is beautiful and she looks like she has way more hair than S'anah. I'm going to try the supplement and I think next time we're at the vets I'm going to mention it just in case its something more serious than just her hair not growing. I have no reason to think it is, just better to be safe than sorry. |
My boy's hair on his head is REALLY thin as well. I wondered if he had mites or something before I got him... What hair he does have is an ok length for his age, but he looks like a balding old man sometimes, especially near his ears. Perhaps our babies just have genetically bad hair? I hope tings improve with your girl's hair, perhaps the suggested fish oil stuff will work. She is completely beautiful, thick floor length hair or not. I guess with yorkies as with people some have model like hair some (like me) do not. |
