advise please... hi i have a female yorkie who is nearly 7 years old, my sister has a male jack russell who is just over a year old...we wanted the dogs to spend time together and go walking together which we have been doing they get on fine but...the male jack russell has turned into a complete sex crazed lunatic when my yorkie is around.he is acting the way my male would act when my female comes into season-ive never seen a dog like it!..we took them on a walk today and he was the worst he has ever been he walks with his nose permantly stuck to her rear!!(when he will walk) wont walk has to be dragged barks and lunges at everyone who comes by basicly he is the complete opposite to what he usually is...so my question is...is this normal behaviour??..why is he doing it?? and what do we do!!....why is he doing it so bad and she isnt even in season!!!...............thanks |
Hi Is your sisters dog neuter? Our neighbors dog used to do that to our german sheppard mind he was a pug (not neutered) hehe but boy was he determind!! after more walks and corrections he stopped. |
hi no hes not been neutered and for the time being she wasnt going to be getting him seen to yet,as they are not living together not really a reason too but yes hes so determined my yorkie will tell him off when shes had enough.....so by corrections do you think just keep telling him he will gve up in the end!!... |
yeah, usually being neutered helps, cause sometimes is not a sexual thing and more of a establishing dominace. and yes corrections help alot everytime he tries stop him, what we did everytime Gugo (pug) tried to hump we placed him on his back and let the other dog sniff and didnt let him get up untill he calmed down. |
