Bubba & Roxy were MOBBED! Last night, dressed in their 4th of July outfits, Bubba & Roxy went with my dd and I to a huge music & fireworks celebration at the state capitol grounds. I think half of the 200,000 people there were kids or adults who wanted to see and pet the babies. Mixed feelings about all the attn - Bubba & Roxy were great and let all the kids pet them. One little girl spent more time with us than her family  -- But I had taken them on a brief walk and some gal came by and picked Bubba up without asking  But the funnier things were how crazy people, especially men were about my babies. One guy walked by and said "lovely frock" -- everyone loved seeing them dressed up! ;) And my dd was saying she didn't want to go with us if the dogs wore clothes. Walking to the car, some guy on a motorcycle with a handlebar mustache, tatoos sitting at a light says to the gal on the back of his bike - oh, look at the cute yorkies in their clothes -- then some guy walking near us, says to my dd - how hilarious was that some tough guy commenting on the yorkies :p |
Well, when you have cute dogs, people can't help themselves right? :D Do you have any pictures of their 4th of July outfits? |

That is to funny about the motorcycle guy... lol.. I'd be nerveous with all the people crowding around my babies.. I don't do well in big crowds.. :D |
1 Attachment(s) How funny:D~ did the dogs enjoy all the attention? And how were they with the fireworks? I thought about doing the same thing with Max and Madison here, but I was afraid the loud fireworks would scare them. However, the REAL deciding factor was when I woke up to reality and realized it would be way too hot to take them (or ourselves) anywhere outside, even at 9 pm:(. That's hilarious about the biker guy....I have a card that made me think of that I'll attach, I Just love it~ So, do you have a picture of your two in their outfits? I bet they're just adorable! Glad you all had such a great time! |

The fireworks and everything were great!! There was a local Iowa rock band (no not Slipknot ) that performed starting at 6:30 and then the symphony with Broadway star Craig Schulman. And then Iowa-born, world famous Simon Estes, performed with the sympnony to raise money forthe 2008 Iowa Disaster Fund - to help those whose homes were destroyed when a F5 tornado hit Parkersburg, Iowa and to help those who have had huge damage by the floods this summer. To top it off we actually saw 2 firework displays!! :D -- right as the symphony began playing the 1812 Overture fireworks went off after the Iowa Cubs (yep, Chicago's AAA team) - the ballpark is a mile or so from the capital and the capital sits up on a hill, and then the fireworks display for the big event. I was concerned about the noise, but they were setting them off far enough away that it wasn't as loud as it could be. The noisiest part was actually the number of cannons being fired during the overture - they were a lot closer to us. We saw quite a few dogs there - they all seemed calm |
ha ha I love the photo, I need to get one for Scott that says "My other dog is a Lab" so he feels manly walking around with Leo... Very cute on the people liking the outfits and the dogs. I do not see Yorkies around here much at all. In the five years I've lived here I've seen ONE at the DMV. But over in Tulsa I've seen a few. |
