Ripoff Report is a great site, but the problem is that people who are likely to be taken in by these scams don't know to go to sites like that ahead of time. That's why I do what I can to get the sites shut down and get the ads removed as soon as I see them. Scammers will always be scammers, but I get some bit of satisfaction from making their lives as difficult as possible. This takes me around one to two hours per week, depending on the current volume of ads and sites. I've had literally thousands of ads removed from my local papers in the past year, hopefully before anyone fell for them.
I'm going to post some tips in the other thread I started. I wanted to first see if there was any interest in helping with it, and it looks like there is at least some. |
