That sounds great, I've tried the sink but doesn't work for Max, I always used the tub, he doesn't like it, but waits until I'm done, he would not try to get out.

She has all her shots. I just can't seem to get the mats out of her?? What kind of brush do you use? I use a couple different ones and try the comb too but her skin is sensitive and it seems like it hurts her with too hard of a brush or comb but if I don't use something like that then the mats are just getting worse!! I fight her every day at least twice a day and brush her with a pretty soft brush and try to comb her and make her let me!!lol I am afraid to try her nails though. I even bought some small clippers for small animals and thought I would be able to do them but I am so scared I will cut the quick and she will bleed real bad?? When do ya all start putting things in their hair on top of their head?? Her hair up there isn't thick enough to hold yet but it seems like it's growing down in her eyes. I thought if I would get her groomed once then I could keep her done better maybe?? I have no idea I am new to all this. I had a poodle for 19 yrs. and they are alot different than the yorkie I think. THANKS

heheh a use a Madan brush that a lot of showers use...i don't own a CC brush yet but for what i have read or was told the Madan brush is just as good...you have to be careful on the type of pin brushes...the one with the little ball at the end i would not recommend because it pulls the hair...hehe...what type of conditioner do you use? all puppies with fuss about getting brush the first few times but in the end it is rewarding because its like they are getting a massage and sometimes mine dose off while getting brushes...just work at it...hehe

My oldest (Scooter) and my youngest (Nikki) are no problem at all. Nikki is the best little girl when it comes to trimming and a bath. My middle one (Maya) is a handful at bath time. She is also the biggest yorkie and 7 lbs. and is the only one of my 3 that has think, cotton hair. She doesn't like to be trimmed......she works herself up into a frenzy that she's panting the entire time.....the bath part is not too bad.......but the blow-drying is hell. I think she's scared of the blow dryer. I wonder what a groomer would say if they had to trim and bathe her.........LOL! I was wondering if everyone out there that uses blow dryers use a regular (human) blow dryer, or do they use a special pet blow dryer???

i use a normal human dryer...

With my little Nikki (whose now almost 7 months) I have to use 1/4" rubber bands.......her hair is fine and her bangs are still not long enough for the top knot.......but most of the hair stays up. I just put as much as would fit in the rubber band up........and every week it seems that some grows a little longer. I got a ton of the rubber bands on ebay.......and I just cut the bands out with scissors once or twice a day.........that way her hair doesn't break......and I re-do the pony tail. I use a wire brush on the pups......but be careful not to get the wires in the eyes or scratch their noses......and start at the bottom (tail/butt) and hold the hair at the base when you brush so it doesn't pull and hurt them. Nikki yelped the first couple of times I bushed her......but now she's used to it and almost falls asleep. Good luck!

perhaps im lucky living in the canaries ??. Sophie-kins is narly 8 months old and is very good at bath time, she just stands still till i have finished, a quick rub with the towel and thats it !! not a drag at all and its soooo hot here all year round drying just is nt an issue she ,s dry within ten mins tops temps here this week have been upper 90 s and over 100 in the sun, why even in mid winter its always about 75 ummm lovely .

also the price has gone up....so you can order straight from that site....its about the same price....

CC brushes is double in price i believe...

No you're not the only one! I just gave Meek a bath, actually. But, he was suppose to get it on Sunday.:rolleyes: If he was yucky from the rain, I probably would have waited a little longer too. lol :p

No, your not :( I used to not mind giving the furkids a bath, and I actually don't mind bathing Stedman even though he is worse in the bath than Tatum is (he's still not "BAD" though). However, I don't mind bathing him because he has VERY SHORT hair now. Tatum is EXCELLENT in the bath (she actually falls asleep during it :rolleyes:) but it just takes soooo long with all that long, super thick hair of hers, ugh! I'm dreading it now more than ever before :( Not to mention, it takes me 5 seconds to blow dry Stedman and I don't know HOW long to blow dry Tate :( It is becoming such a pain with all that hair of hers, but no matter what, I still can't make myself cut it :p

i am taking advantage of pool dips while the weather is right.. nice rinse and cool dip keepin them fresh and happy.. fastest bath ever..:animal-pa
only do this with clean sweaty hot doggies:aimeeyork

I have dreaded it since back surgery. I still have another 5 mo. to go to feel somewhat back to normal. Sooooo, I just pop a pain pill and try to get them bathed through gritted teeth. It feels good though to have them clean and smelling good. Has anyone ever tried Royal Treatment shampoos and spritzs they sell on HSN. I have used the shampoo and just ordered the spritzs in vanilla. They smell so good.

well i gave in and gave them a bath around 11 pm. and got done around 12:30 am.

now time to go to bed for work tomorrow morning!

I like giving my baby a bath. He is a little jumpy during the rinsing, wanting out of the sink but afterwards I love wrapping him in a towel and cuddling with him. He is only 13 weeks old so he has pretty short hair.

It is very thick though. He has a cottony coat. It takes a while to rinse him. But I use warm water so he likes it after a bit.

I try to do it fast so he isn't in the water too long. I don't want him to freak out.

I've been neglecting his grooming this past week. He had some pretty tight mats around his face and on his legs. I have no idea what it was from but it took a while for me to get them out. He didn't like it one bit. :/

I do try to grab the hair at the base of the skin and then work on the mat but that was hard on the ones on his legs and face. Poor baby...

I think tomorrow I'll give him a nice warm bath and massage him and then we get to cuddle again! lol:animal-pa

This reminds me of my breeder friend. She'd been on holiday in their caravan with 5 adult yorkies and 5 puppies. (One's my Suzi). It rained a lot and she said it was mayhem. lol.

She had just bathed them. (Not in the caravan.) (all ten) when I rang. It must have been like a production line.
She said the worse thing is drying them all. lol. Had five puppies all in a cage with a dryer on them. Then all the adult dogs. I'd have loved to have seen it.

hehe...that is what i did late last night....bathe them then placed them inside a kennel and turned on the blowdryer...hehe...and one by one bought them out with another blowdryer and brush the hair while the others are drying...

Gus doesn't like most grooming, mostly because he doesn't like having a wet face; he rubs it on the carpet for a good 15 minutes after I bathe him or clean off his eye boogers and tear stains. Once I get him on a table, though, he pretty much puts up with everything, and he always gets a treat afterward. I have to give him a bath today because we have to Frontline him tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to it; we're at our summer cottage, and there's not much room to do this stuff! And I have to trim his paws and clip his nails! *sigh*

hehe...i skipped the nail trimming last night...was exhausted...after bathing 3 dog, drying them and brushing them out...heeh
