Does your dog scream? Do any of your dogs scream when they are mad. Nico was in puppy prison this weekend for a little while and he cried for about ten minutes and then all of a sudden he started screaming like pitt bulls were tearing his heart out. I have never in my life heard anything like it. It wasn't barking or growling it was screaming. He actually made me cry, I thought someting had happened to him. |
YES, Layla screams. I had to drive 2 and a half hours when I was moving and she was just a puppy. She was in her travel crate right beside me and she screamed the whole way. She also screams when I leave the car. I remember last summer telling my roommate about her screaming, and she thought I was exaggerating. We were on our way to take a picnic by the river and I stopped on the way to run in and get a sub to eat. When I got back she told me she understands what I mean when I say Layla screams! |
Yes, My Cookie screams when I crate her at night (so she doesn't chew the house down) or if I go outside without her she stands at the door and screams really loudly so I am sure to hear her!:) |

LOL!!! I sometimes have to leave her inside the house if I am leaving or going outsde to wash the car or something, when I can't watch her. But she sure lets me know that she wanted to go to!!!:p |
Bella didn't make a sound for the first two days I had her. Then on the way to the vet she started this humming whining thing. It broke my heart. Then when I took her on her first road trip (1 1/2 hours away) she whined and then started screaming bloody murder. So she lasted 30 minutes in that carrier and it was passed along to my sister who is getting a itty bitty poodle.:) Then I switched her carrier and the first time she screamed and I left her in it and she quieted down and now she's fine with it. Now my biggest problem is if she's not happy where all her toys are she will whine and then scream. I think my puppy has picked up on my slight OCD :yelrotflm |
Skeeter goes into a playpen at night or if we have to leave him in the house. He is usually pretty good about it but the second he thinks he hears on of us up he is screaming his head off. He is such a cuddle bug and so loving he mush reallyl hate being separated from us. Adie, the little stinker, has just started screaming if she thinks the others are going outside and she isn't. She is pee pad trained and doesn't have to go "out" like Ivan and Cassie do so she doesn't always get to go with them. She is especially bad at night when i absolutely refuse to let her outside. We have all kinds of wildlife around here! |
Yep mine sure do....and they know thats the only thing that will make me listen to them b/c I try to ignore the one little bark so they got smarter.... |
Lucy seats at the sliding door, waiting to see or smell a cat or something and out of the blue she screams leading into her bark. It's the funniest thing & usually scares the heck out of me :) |
yes pebbles does this ..then sometimes if i ignore her long enough, she tries to howl. it is the funniest thing (the psuedo-howling) but her screaming, my goodness... she just yells like a crazy person whenever I leave her in her part of the house and go into the hallway for like my purse or something... she is too much! |
 Our Rocky screams, but Bitsy and B.J. don't. Rocky has a scream that sounds like a rooster crow. He'll be sound asleep and suddenly throw his head up and let out this blood curdling scream then falls back asleep again??!! |
Katie doesn't scream, but cries a lot if we have to leave her in the car. As soon as we are out of sight she quietens. Hugs Shirl x x |
Both mine do, but specialy Rosi:rolleyes: she does that when we go to my friends house, she gets sooo exited as she runs toward the house she screams ! |
Mine don't, but I know one little girl that can break glass with her screaming. It's Villette's little Cheri. lol |
 I thought Toto was the only one who did this!! The only time she has ever screamed is if she is hurt ... it is the most heartwrenching sound we have ever heard. When she doesn't get her way, she tries so very hard to "talk" [I swear, it sounds like little words!] and if that doesn't work, she has a little tiny "yipping" sound that gets our attention! :) |
Lola has never screamed to my knowledge. She yelps and whines and barks, but never screams. I hope she never does. That would freak me out! LOL |
YES LILY SCREAMS and SCREAMS and SCREAMS!!LOL I hope this is something she grows out of?? I give up on the crate at night because she can scream for hours!! She did scream when she rode in the car in the little crate in the car but now she doesn't scream as much but she gets sick and throws up now when I take her in the car. When she is out in her xpen in the yard she will scream and jump so high she almost can jump to the top of it!! I won't even mention how she acts when I try to brush/comb her!!lol She is a good girl to get her bath but you can't touch her with a brush or anything...she throws a fit!! I think she might be spoiled a little bit too??lol She has me trained real well. |
We keep Lily in the mud room most of the time but we have also been leaving her in her crate when we won't be gone for as long so that if we ever have to leave her in there she won't scream. The first couple of times we put her in there she would scream and scream and it sounded like she was throwing herself up against the walls of the crate. It was the funniest saddest thing I had ever heard. We just left her alone and now she has realized we will be back. She still will start whimpering when I get her out and love on me like she hasn't seen me in days, but thats ok it makes me feel special :D |
whiny yelp gus has a yorkipoo high pitched yelp.. he is a soprano:cool: |
Classical Music calms Chili's screaming I can't remember where I read this, but I tried it and it worked. Every time we would leave the house, we would return to this terrible screaming at us. Chili would gripe us out for about 2 minutes when we got home, and it did not matter if we were gone 10 minutes or 2 hours he was letting my husband and I have it. I started to play classical music when I left after I read somewhere that it sooths yorkies. It worked, he is so pleasent to return home to. Now he is just excited to see us and wants to love on you when you get home. Its great! |

Riley was a terror when she was a puppy. Anytime you put her in the kennel she would go ballistic, screaming and biting the kennel. In fact, she eventually knocked out two baby teeth! She was a little freak! She's calmed down quite a bit, but if she gets mad that I kenneled her (usually when I'm getting ready to leave) she'll do her little scream and dig frantically at the kennel. I don't think she'll ever outgrow it at this point; she'll be 2 in October. |
I know the talking you are talking about! Keelyn's got a voice of a human i swear! when she wakes me up in the middle of the night to potty its like a low talking voice, not growling or barking or crying it's talking! she does SCREAM when i brush her..but shes just a puppy, she'll get used to it after her biweekly washes and brushouts at the groomer :) (as per recommended by them) :) |
