Grooming I want to groom my baby. I'm not sure she would let me. She's only gone to groomer twice and she really doesnt like it... THey have BIRDS and she hates birds ever since that big green parrot tried to get us both when she was really tiny. I can't even make myself think about anyone abusing her, I would kill 'em!! I do her nails but how in the world would I trim her face and buttocks:cool: and those tiny little feet. Any suggestions? would I have to have all that expensive equipment. I don't have anywhere to put it even if I could afford it. Emma can't keep lookin like a sheepdog! |
Huami; I have 3 babes and decided to try grooming them myself. I just have a clipper from WalMart and a pair of sissors from the hair dept. of WalMart. If you can stand them looking a little weird for a few trys it gets better. I am getting ready to purchase a couple pair of the curved scissors. Those I hear work great for legs, belly, and around the head and round end scissors for around the eye area. My hubby guards their eye area right now while I trim as best I can. I have found enjoyment trimming them and excited each time they look better than the last. I use the #2 guard that came with the kit. Good luck if you decide to go for it!! Let me know how it goes. |
Well if you cut her nails you are already at a good start. I groom all my dogs and fosters my self. The first thing that you want to do is get the right brush and combs. Than you will need to decide how you would like her/his hair to be styled do you like the long look??? or short puppy cut?? That will help you to decide what else you will need to by such as scissors, sheers, and clippers. If you are only clipping your pup and not starting a business doing this you don't need to buy the professonial stuff that cost 100 per scissors. You can start with the basics. You can even get clippers with attachments for under 40 bucks just look around and do your research. To clip around the rear you will need tiny clippers (you get it at target for 14 bucks in the pet aisles) and you get clip the rear quick and easy same goes for the paw pads. Around the face will be a little bit more difficult depending how pup will handle it I say take it step by step and get her used to being touched around the face then by the third time you groom her it will be fine.
