Keep Mia in Your Thoughts Today.... (I hope this qualifies for general discussion, I'll understand if it is moved) I dropped Mia off this morning at about 8:15 a.m. for blood work, microchip, teeth extraction and spay. I'm a nervous wreck! She knew something was up. SHe was shaking like a little leaf from the time we left the house this morning. I've never left her with any strangers before, she's probably so scared! I feel horrible! I asked if I could leave her blanket with her (smells like home) and they kinda looked at me funny and said "you might not get it back". I said "well, what if I ask for it back when I pick her up?" DUH! I asked when the procedure would start and they said anywhere from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.!!! Geez... I would have liked a better estimate than that! The vet is supposed to call me before he starts to talk about a few of my concerns. I was told that it was up to the vet if I was able to take her home. I basically told them I was going to take her home no matter what unless there are any complications! No one will be there for 7 hours!! I feel a little uneasy.... I guess I'm just surprised I had to drop her off so early when she might not be seen until 3 p.m. Does that mean she has no food or water until then? |
If she is scheduled for surgery , she will not have food or water . |
Try to keep busy. I completely understand how you feel. I've been there! I'll keep her in my thoughts today.:) |
I hope the day goes by fast for you. I know what it is to have to wait. Keep busy. Prayers coming for Mia that all will be fine. Don't worry about her eating she won't anyhow she will be to nervous but I am sure there is water in her crate in case she needs it. That stinks she had to go in so early but I guess the vet's just never know perfect schedules with emergencies and all that may arrise during the day. I hope Mia is in your arms before you know it. Great idea about her blanket. I did that with Buddy as well and there was no problem. They should have suggested it to you anyhow not look so surprised that you requested it. Oh well as long as things go well is all that counts. Keep us informed. |
sending a big prayer ur way. im going through this next tuesay. ayy ayyy ayyyy. hugsssss |
Sending thoughts and prayers. Just keep youself busy it will go by quickly |
You are in my thoughts! I understand what you are feeling as i have to do the same for Brooklyn tomorrow. I dread it...I will keep your little one in my prayers today. I hope she will be done early in their schedule and you can relax knowing that she is fine! God Bless!:D |
Sending prayers and hugs for your little Mia. I'll bet she will do better than you! :) I was just like you, my baby had never been away from me and I was absolutely devistated. She did great!! Stay busy and you will have her back in your arms before you know it. God bless you. |
Aww, Mia is in my thoughts today. I am sure she will be fine. I agree with the others to try and stay busy! |
Thanks everyone. :) Mia is home and sleeping at the moment. Surprised I was told she did not need any pain med's. Is that normal? Her stitches are internal.... so I have no cone, nor do i have a onesie for her, but I'm still thinking about getting one. She was in my BF's arms sleeping in the car ride home and all of a sudden she let out a loud cry and tried to bolt out of his arms. She did this twice and it SCARED me!!!! I'm hoping she doesn't do this again. I'm guessing she had some shooting pains...? |

Poor little Mia! (I love that name!) I hope you are feeling a bit better having her back with you, and I hope that Miss Mia is on the mend. Keep us posted on her recovery and know that we are all praying for her to heal fast and get back to herself... for both of you. Take care! |
Poor Mia hope everything went well. Maybe she was just having a bad dream. I would hope being with you she will feel better than being in the vet's office. I think sometimes they don't get the personal one on one we give them. |
Sending prayers! |

I never had to put a onesie on her. She was just fine after the first day or two. She was really sore the first night, but we slept on the floor together and that helped make it all better!:D |
