My story! My little dog...that's what we call her...was found in the house next door between the time they were going to paint and the drywall was put up. The workers didn't want her to get hurt so they asked if they could put her in my back yard. It broke my heart to see her in such poor condition. I gave her something to eat. I gave her a bath. She smelled much better at this point. I brushed her. I made her a make-shift dog house on the back porch. Over the next couple of days, I hung signs, called all the local shelters, took her to the vet...She has an unregistered microchip. Nobody answered the posters I hung up. I even took her to every yard sale I went to that summer. That's when I decided she needed a good home. It's been more than a year now. Her favorite place is in my lap. (That's were she is right now!) She fits right into our family! I really don't know how I survived without her! |
What a beautiful story! I did something pretty close to what you did; someone found Madison out in the desert, starving to death and all dirty and matted and took pity on him. Brought him home, but couldn't keep him and tried putting out flyers to try to find his owner. I told them to take him to check for a microchip; of course, he had none. I took him home and continued to search for an owner, but nobody surfaced. He was sick and probably just abandoned for one reason or another. It wasn't easy, but I kept him well, and even though I was an ICU nurse forever, and saved MANY people's lives (in and out of the hospital), when I look at Madison, I feel like this is the very BEST thing I've ever done in my life:D. I'm so glad that the workers found you to take your baby in! It's amazing that someone would get their dog chipped and not register (although, it costs $10 more, so maybe they didn't think it was worth it...); but more than likely, they didn't care anymore. How sad, but how wonderful for her that she found you! I truly believe that sometimes certain animals appear in our lives for a good reason~ and it's not just them that benefit; it's us that benefit even more! Bless you for being such a wonderful caring person and giving her a safe place filled with love:) |
Sounds like you have given Little Dog the wonderful home that she deserves!!! |

What a beautiful story. I am so glad that you two found each other. |
People seriously just "find" yorkies out and about??? Wow! That's pretty messed up. (Not that you find them.) I can't believe people would toss such a small dog out like trash. Then again, one of my clients found a 2.5 pound poodle mix in a dumpster... Thanks for sharing your story! I'm very glad things turned out the way they did, and you now have a sweet little girl to love!!! |
Awww! What a great story. :) |

The shelters I contacted and a couple of vets said he most likely had been abandoned b/c he had some health issues and couldn't be used as a stud nor sold as a puppy anymore, so they just left him. You wonder, don't you, what goes on in some people's heads that would make it ok to take a sweet, trusting little dog, leave him somewhere strange, with no food or shelter (IN THE DESERT:mad:) where there's coyotes and heaven only knows what...LOTS of BIG dogs running in packs out in that area. to fend for himself. I know someone who actually carts WATER out that way for these dogs who are homeless.....so, big winds, no water, coyotes and packs of hungry, thirsty big dogs, garbage, cars, rotten food his only hope.....it's a miracle this little guy survived. And every time I look at him, I think "I hope whoever left him thinks about him EVERY DAY and wonders what happened to him and feels GUILTY and ASHAMED of themselves". Of course, his story is only one of millions, and that's the real tragedy. |
Is that the one in your avatar? How precious! I'm so very glad she has a loving home.:) |
What a great ending for your Little Dog! :) I can't imagine how ppeople toss there babies out like yesterdays garbage :( :( It makes me so sad :( Thank goodness there are wonderful people like us here on YT who care and are willing to open our hearts & homes up to these poor babies. please post pics of your Little Dog :) We would love to see them :) |
Ahhh...what a lovely story...I am so happy you found each other! |
That was a very sweet, heartwarming story. Looks like it was ment to be, the two of you together enjoying each other and life, side by side. I am glad you were there for her. Makes you physically sick when you think of how someone with a heart could just throw away a living breathing thing and not give it a second thought. |
