Whats the answer???? We didn't think Kayla would ever learn to go out the doggie door. Now, its in and out and in and out. I have a flower bed next to the hot tub that has some of the colored rock in it. Everytime she comes in she brings a rock, or stick and its driving me nuts. SHe will try to bite if you try taking it away and I am afraid she will get choked on the rocks. They are not real small, but small. I can't put on the doggie door because Mandy and Tina have to go out. What are we going to do with this little wart. I thought she would settle down when she turned a yr. but I think she getting worse. lol!!! Of course, she isn't spoiled. ha!! |
Bump... Hope somebody has advice |
My little girl uses a doggy door and brings tons of stuff in ... I feel your pain. She brings in rocks but never eats them ... they are just scattered in her mudroom until I pick them up. But could you spray the rocks with something like bitter apple or something else that would taste bad and break the habit? |
Callie has a doggy door too and she brings lots of stuff like sticks, bugs, snails worms some of the ickiest things and if we walk up to her to try to take them she normaly runs off with them back outside and leaves them out there but sometimes when she runs she leaves them behind and me and my grandma have to clean them up ewwwwie but sorry I dont really have an advice just shareing my story lol |
This is probably not practical or pretty, but chicken wire fencing could be placed around the areas you dont want her to go. I use it to keep critters out of my garden. Its pretty cheap and could be taken down later. |
How about spraying the rocks liberally with bitter apple spray ,its colorless so it wont change the color of the rocks. But you will have to respray if it rains. Eileen |
i have a doggie door and sometimes they bring in real long sticks.. i dont know how they get them in.. then they get bark all over.. what a mess. they also bring in rocks occasionally, but i dont have small ones..:) |
I'm sorry you guys are having this problem, and I know if it was me it would be really bothering me too......but it was just such a darn cute picture these little guys bringing those long sticks and stones thru the door;). It's like they are hunting/scavaging bringin in their finds......good thing they havent found a mouse yet:eek: Spraying the rocks with that bitterspray does sound like a great idea...! Good luck |
Totally off subject...especially since I don't have a doggie door...but Sandysbabies.....I can't get in touch with you by PM or on your profile page.:confused: |

That's hilarious! We don't have a doggie door, but Wrigley is a sneak who runs like the wind past us to get in with sticks, mulch, etc.. in her mouth. She loves to shred it all up and leave a big, fat mess for us to clean up! |
Isnt it amazing what they can try to drag in and also drag out the doggie door?! :D |
My advice might not be very practical, but I would replace the rock with a larger size. |
