Belly Bands Are there some where they have the pad built in and you just buy a couple and switch one with another and wash the 1 he just wore? |
I use the kind that you place the sanitary napkin in and just replace the napkin. Having more than one belly band does seem necessary. I prefer the velcro closure as to a "snap" type. That way you get just the right fit. |

I have made waterproof ones with the pad built in. It costs a little extra, but saves buying the pads all the time. Let me know if you want any. I did make some for a YT'r for her trip to the KC meetup. |
I agree that you need a few at least. I don't know what the waterproof ones are like, but I do know that I don't want wetness or bacteria (we live in a very warm albeit, dry climate) on my dog's skin for very long. I made my own and use Poise pantiliners and change them when they get very wet. The regular bellybands are washable so if you have a few, it won't matter if it gets wet (which they all will). Actually, I made a WHOLE BUNCH for Madison b/c they're so cute and there's so many cute fabrics and they WORK!!! Plus it's nice to just toss one that's gotten damp into the laundry and use another one. |
I have about 4 or 5 for Winston and use the maxi pad liners. If the wee wee wrap stays dry, I can put a new maxi on, but a lot of times, I will have to change the wee wee wrap too, if it moves a little to the side and misses the maxi. They are very helpful though! |

I wish they came in disposable like baby diapers. (especially for travel) I have about 10. I use poise pads and wash them frequently. I don't put them in the dryer because they shrink and wear out faster. |
