[QUOTE=Kelz;2060257]i got lily from Kim in prague too!!!! I bet they are all from the same mill. Lily is 7 and by the way it sounds yours are just like she was.. You may very well be right. By the way Kim told me she had one more Yorkie when I was there, but I didn't ask to see it as I had already decided on the two girls (couldn't commit to three!) and that was a surprise to my husband. Isn't Kim awesome? I can't believe there are such people in this world, but there she is, so I guess that proves there are such people. Glad Lily is doing so well, and yes, my girls are estimated to be 7 or 8 years old too, which gave me a moments hesitation as I know I won't have them too long. But they'll be treated well for the years they have left. I really appreciate how encouraging everyone on this board has been and it has really given me hope that things will work out. I just got kind of down as I was not recoved from the loss of Joi and surprised to find myself with two mill dogs...all in less than two weeks! I am now getting back to normal, or maybe I should say adjusting to the new normal. |
i am terrible sorry that you lost 2 of your babies...but happy to hear that you opened your heart and rescue 2 yorkie...i hope everything works out... |

Im also east of OKC in the country...Newalla..I dont know if you read what I feed but I cook for them and I make a big pot and then freeze it up and it last a long time..It doesnt cost as much as commercial food and Bob thrives on it and has for 2 years... I agree with the suggestion of petting on the chest and working your way up. Marley is skittish if you reach for her head. I have had her since Saturday and I see an improvement in her already. She wants to be HELD now!!! woohooo!!! she had no idea about it before!!!! Weird thing tho I havent seen her take a drink of water yet!!!! I know she must but I havent seen her??????? Ive been taking her to the water bowl and putting some water on my finger and putting it in her mouth!!!! She only has 4 teeth therefore her tounge hangs out and the poor thing is dry! I was wondering if she was even able to bark but last night when I got home I was outside talking to some workers that were at the house and Bob and Marley went to the window and saw me out there and they both starting barking...lol...The one guy said..I didnt even know there were dogs here! They love me, my doggies.... |
Was Marley de barked?? i'm 99% Sure Lily was.. you can't hear her growl unless you are next to her and her bark is really wraspy. it kinda sounds like a duck! |
You know..Im crying right now because all of this is so overwhelming to me. I thought the same thing and I couldnt really hear her from outside but just a bit so I dont know. I cant stand the thought of what life was like for these dogs and it would do me NO good to know exactly where they came from because I would be over there telling whoever it was what I thought of them and their so called breeding operation...Im too emotional for that... It has been so hard for me to even come to work this week because I just want to hang out with Marley and let her know life is ok...Ask Bob... |
So sorry for the loss of your two babies...and Congrats on your new girls. You are doing a wonderful thing....yes its hard work but at the end of the day you are going to feel so proud of yourself. Its so rewarding. I adopted Gabby 6 months ago, she's two and although she wasn't a mill dog she had a few issues. As far as adjusting she was fine because as soon as I brought her home she was not scared to explore but my girl didn't know what picking her up, cuddling, kisses were. She would get stiff and be scared when I would try to pick her up. 6 months later all she wants to do is cuddle, give me kisses and wants to be picked up. She knows its okay....and its so rewarding knowing that everytime I look at her I can see in her eyes that I am everything to her. Hang in there. ((((hugs))) |
Wish I know how to send this to everyone on this thread. I have a problem with Dolly, she is the submissive one (overly submissive). I suspicion she is sleeping outside on the back deck at night. I put her and Molly to bed on cushions but they do have access to the doggie door and run (and have been using it, oh happy day) but I think Dolly is going out in the night and being afraid to come back in. I do have problems getting her to come back inside through the doggie door, she is so fearful. Sometimes she'll come in, like if I am feeding them, but sometimes she is afraid and only comes half way in. I don't want to close the doggie door as I want them to continue doing their business outside, but I am worried about her staying out all night. Mosquitoes could bite her and while I do heart worm treatment I still don't want her to be uncomfortable and bitten. I do keep water out there, but no food in order to discourage critters. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
