Help, she seems so miserable Gracie is teething...loosing her baby teeth. And she seems so miserable right now. It just breaks my heart. :cry8: She walks around carrying her yellow ducky and just makes the most pitiful whine. Then she'll stop and look up at me and do a little whine. She's hurting and doesn't understand why. It's been nearly 20 years since I had one young enough to go thru teething, and I don't really remember Sadie having issues with it. Is there anything I can do or give her that will bring her some relief until this passes? I thought about wetting a washcloth and putting it in the freezer then giving that to her to chew on. I've crushed up her food so that it's easier for her to eat. She is such a good eater of her kibble, I really don't want to start giving her can food. I thought maybe I could just add some water to soften it for a little while. Has anyone had their babies eating habits change after going thru teething? I know she is the more miserable, but I'm a close second right now. :( |
i wish i cud help u but i dont know about this. abby has baby teeth n adult teeth in the top front. wen she gets spayed in 3 weeks they will get rid of them. i heard that cloth in the freezer is good. try giving her toys that r hard for her to chew n pop them out. i hope it all turns out well n she feels better soon. |
Lily was sensitive when teething, I put her food in the microwave with a little bit of water for like 8 sec and then she would eat it rate up. It only lasted like 4 or 5 days. |
Frozen carrots are great for teething. |
I gave her little ice chunks to eat. I also put wet wash cloths in the freezer and would put those in her mouth for awhile to give her some relief. Anything you can put in the freezer to make something cold for her will give a bit of relief.:) |
ASK your vet if she can have a tiny quarter of baby asprin - but ASK the vet - don't just give it to her - that may help.... my vet sent us home with some back when Chanel was a puppy and had a gouge on her head from a nail in my back fence - (reminder to all with fences - check the nails if you have wood) I hope she feels better soon - |
Poor gracie. The only thing I can recommend is hard stuff to chew on...helps to get the teeth out fast. The icy wash cloths and ice chunks should work well. |
Thank you all for your input. I'll give some of this a try when I get home. |
