Hysterectomy? Angel is getting fixed this friday. Im having the laser surgery one instead of using a knife. Anywho, I was online researching this procedure and I was shocked to learn that they remove their ovaries and uterus. I thought they only clipped tubes. This makes me scared. I really don't want them removing her insides. I also read that she has to be really careful for 2 weeks after surgery. No jumping on or off the couch. I can control that during the day but what about at night? She doesnt sleep in a crate and she's probably kill me if I tried putting her in one. I dont wanna close in her the bathroom or any room for that matter. I don't want her to feel like she is being punished....if that makes sense. Any suggestions? |
Heather - wish I could help - Cheri just had her spay surgery - Within 3 days....she was feeling SO good she thinks she's supergirl...It's very hard to stop them from jumping - I put pillows all around the couch so she could get up and down - and she just jumped OVER them - No help here right ? GOOD LUCK and I'm sending good thoughts your way for Angel on Friday... |
Katie was up the very next day after her spay - she was running around like a nut case. I don't think it's anything to worry too much over. The doctors will make sure everything is perfect for your little baby. |
Thanks to both of you for helping. I worry about my babies and I just want to do everything right. Im so afraid that she will hurt herself. |
yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too much... Annie was running around after about the second day... There was no stopping her... So just play it by ear ;) |
I think it's impossible to keep them quiet once they're feeling better. I tried to keep Maddie from jumping, but I know there was plenty of times I couldn't get to her in time and she'd jump on or off of furniture. I know crating them would keep them from jumping, but I didn't have the heart to do that. Good luck with Angel...I'll say a prayer!!! |
I remember with Tuffy that about an hour after I brought him home after his neuter he had jumped on the couch and was stretched out trying to get into a trashcan. Pixie gets spayed next Monday so I'm already stressing about how to keep her calm with Tuffy ready to help her get into trouble. Good luck with her! I'm sure she'll be fine. :D |
