Neutered and Still Humping It's been a week since Logan was neutered. He must be feeling better because he is "abusing" his stuffed bear tonight. I was hoping the neuter would take care of this. |
Uhhmmm no probably not....even females occasionally hump. |
Sometimes dogs hump as a show of dominance. Maybe he just wanted to make sure that teddy knows who the boss is???:) |

Humping is'nt Sexual For Dogs "Humping" is'nt Sexual it is a sign of "Domination" and both Males & Females will "Hump" anything or anyone. Along with getting fixed w/c is the Physical part of it, you still need to Train them to STOP w/c is the Mental part and that's what the "Alpha" is supposed to Control and that should be you? Some people think it's cute so they actually encourage the behaviour? |
I've read it can take 2 months for the hormones to leave the system, however some dogs will continue. Joey use to do this all the time, but sometime after he was neutered he stopped; I guess he doesn't find big "Red" attractive anymore. It cracked me up when he did it, I didn't really care if he stopped, so maybe if you just try laughing when he does it, he will stop. |

Yea, my vet said that it takes 2-3 months to get all the testosterone out of their system, like Nancy said. Meeko was humping A LOT rite before he got neuter but, I don't think I've caught him since he surgery. It's been 2 months since he was neutered. |
Actually Reese has never humped in front of us. He takes his goose, Miss Lucy...on dates in another room. If you happen to "catch" him in the act...he stops. Maybe he had performance anxiety. |

I have to say these are some of the funniest responses I've read on YT. A lot of people with a good sense of humor, I'd say! |
It's also habitual. You just have to teach him not to do it anymore. |
My Vet says it takes 6 months to a year for the sex drive to go away. |
