She's biting my ankles!! What's the deal with the ankle biting? BeBe insists on walking behind me and biting at my ankles and calves. Will it stop? Do I have to train her not to? I always say "No bite!" but to no avail. Anybody else had this issue? |
Let me know if you find an answer, my Luna does that too:laugh: Nothing has worked for me either:rolleyes: |
It must be something Yorkies do....as Tink does this when she is a little excited and wants me to play!:aimeeyork:animal-pa:animal-pa |

roscoe does the same thing.......he will nip our hands while we are playing fetch and our toes. We tried the spray bottle and he tried eating the water. Friend of mine went through the same thing and said it stopped once the teething period ended. |
If you feel bad about the squirt bottle, try coins in a can. It'll get to the point that you don't even have to rattle the can. Hot Rod HATES that. and no, you are not being cruel but I don't like the bottle squirting...I thought it might make them afraid of water. Good luck.:) |
biting Spritze your ankles with Bitter Apple...I sray my fingers when I have teething puppies and they stop nibbling my fingers...I have spritzed by feet, socks and shoes..they learn fast. |
I did that too! Quote:

These types are the ones that need to be taken for more walks and played with outside frequently. My Razael is an ankle nipper too, but when I exercise her often, she doesn't do it. I think they will just outgrow it. I don't want to scare her or wet her because I don't want her to start being timid or distrusting. I need all the exercise I can get anyway. ;) |
Maggy May used to do this to me, I went out and bought a whistle and when she did it, I'd blow it loud and quick to startled her, cured her in a few days. You could also try a squirt bottle. |
hate that tooooo! i've had bleeding ankles before... i'll have to try the bitter apple thing |
Maybe we should wear combat boots till this stage is over! :D |
hahah... i've worn my Uggs around the house before when i've gotten really fed up with it! he gets aggravated that he can't get to my ankles with them on and eventually gives up. i wouldn't recommend it though, i'm going to need some new winter boots come december!! :p |
