My little houdini My mom had to babysit Logan Sat. night because I was the maid of honor in a wedding. So we took his playpen with him so she could put him in that when she wasn't watching him. Well she put him in while she was out mowing the lawn. She came in to answer the phone and found him laying on the floor in the middle of the kitchen just hanging out. I figured it must of been because he didn't like what channel she left the t.v. on and was trying to change it to animal planet (little did he know my mom doesn't have cable) or my mom's dog Taylor talked him into escaping so he'd get in trouble. We put him in his playpen last night while we went to dinner and when we came home he was still in there so we thought no problem, but then he got out two times this morning while we were getting ready for work. He was so proud of himself. He's shut in the kitchen right now, but this afternoon my husband is going to go try and buy something to put on the top of the playpen. Any suggestions? I didn't want to use a board or anything becaue i worry that if it's something heavy he could move it enough that it could fall into the playpen and crush him. My mom saw him get out once. she said he jumps up and sinks his claws into the mesh and then jumps on out. If this wasn't creating a problem I would be so proud of how smart he is. |
They sell xpen covers....ESPECIALLY made for this...lol, check out petedge and petsmart |
that is really funny!!! perhaps you can get a screen or something for the top??? i'm not sure but i think it sounds like a good idea. that really is funny!!!! little houdini...hahahahah!!! |
what type of playpen is it? one you would use for a baby? |
Could you get just a baby gate and leave him in the kitchen? |
1 Attachment(s) Take a look at this if you do have him in a baby playpen.. Go to babierus.com and click on the playyards and it sould come up it looks like this. (sorry dont know how to link to the thread) But here is a pict of what I am talking about.. |
LOL.... Maybe Logan is trying out his new Batman techniques... He saw that Bat Signal and knew he had to go into action... "Logan to the rescue!!" Destiny use to climb out also we had to put a cover on her little playpen.. It was the baby kind.. We used a sheet of plywood and that worked really well, it overlapped it and she could not move it... There was no danger of it falling in on her.. |
Do what my mom did,,,,,, she put the playpin upside down till she went and made a net do tie down on top of the playpin. She's real crafty ilke that. I wish I had a picture of it. It was a perfect fit. |
Yes it's an actual baby playpen. Some day soon we will shut him in the kitchen, but we are in the middle of repainting it and the refrigerator is moved away from the wall and i don't want him behind it chewing on stuff. Plus if he's in his playpen he can watch animal planet in the living. Thanks for all the great suggestions. I think my mom and i are going to rig something with card board boxes and then we're going to have my aunt make something out of mesh. |

:yelrotflm my puppy just did this this weekend, they are like baby sqirrels i tell ya |
Something my husband did... 1 Attachment(s) He went to Home Depot and bought plastic lattice that he could cut to fit any door size. It was cheap and worked really well. One pice of lattice did several doors. (See background of picture.) Maybe you could cut some to fit the top of the pen? Just buy the lattice with the smaller holes in it, though, because when we first got him, Dublin could scoot right through the larger lattice... |
