Where do you bring your yorkie? I was just wondering where everyone brings there yorkie, and what are "appropriate" places for them to go. I just bought a cute bag to carry my puppy in, but I didn't want to just start bringing her everywhere with out getting some opinions first. Also, where are good places to find carriers that look like purses? Thanks! Steph |
I got my purse like carrier at Tinkerbells closet. I am sure you will get more responses but I just take mine to places they are allowed to go like the Pet stores and the driive through at Starbucks |
Oh I also take mine to our Fall festivals. They are outside and it is okay. I have also taken them camping |
Its just too hot down here to stuff Slade in a carrier and take him places. I do take him to the feedstore occassionally or if we have doggie events in town, but thats pretty much it. oh yea, If you have a Brusters Icecream near you, they allow dogs outside and they even give them there own 'doggie sunday' (icecream w/ milkbone on top). Moe's is another place that will let dogs dine on the patio. |
I pretty much only use Mia's carrier when I can't leave her in the car, and when i can't have her walking on a leash or hold her. Its usually when I need to go to the library, post office, courthouse (for work), or if I'm downtown shopping where there's lots of people traffic... etc. There have been times we have been traveling and had to stop for food and it was too hot to leave her in the car so we'll bring her in... no where fancy, just a quick order, sit down, eat and go. I think the Kwigy-Bo carriers look the most like a regular purse. |
We gone to pet stores, kohls, kmart, walmart, target, lowes, Joanns fabrics, $ store, a quick run into the grocery store for presc., husbands office; ace hardware, Tues Morning. I have a carrier that looks like a purse or I just carry him in my arms. Oh we go to the garden centers too. |
i've taken mickey to stores that doesn't have any food prodcuts and stores that didn't have no dogs allowed sign. ive seen little yorkies in high end department stores like holtrenfrew (saks eq. in USA), and designer boutiques. ive personally never taken my mickey into those because i'd have tot ake the subway. my mom's sneaked mickey into a tim hortons a few times |
thanks for the insight everyone! |
Ozzy has gone to my bank, the petstores, the grocery store (in his bag in the cart..they love him), 3 restaurants that said it was ok for him to come in (he was in his bag)and a few clothes stores. If anyone is uncomfortable I leave with him. If a restaraunt has outdoor seating I wait outside with him while my husband asks if it's ok if he comes in. He's also been canoeing, camping and motorcycle riding. He pretty much goes where we go :D |
I usually take one (whoever is paying attention and ready to go) to my parents house or to the neighbors' houses, but that's really about it. Other than PetSmart, there are not places that allow dogs around here so therefore I don't take them. Besides that, from what I can tell, they seem to enjoy staying behind and napping on my bed better than going anywhere. |
I take mine every where I want.I only take one at a time if pets are not allowed. they are always quiet and with my carriers no one knows. occasionally when I get noticed Its positive feed back. |

Bass Pro. :aimeeyork I'm fixing to go to Branson Mo. and I'm taking Mia. We always stop at Bass Pro. Does anyone know if they forbid dogs in there? I've seen dogs in there before, but I'm not sure if they care. :animal-paMia and Karen:animal-pa |
I take KiKi to PetSmart, Walmart, grocery store and especially the spa on pedicure day...all the girls and clients love her there....I would love to get my hands on a Kwigy-Bo carrier - the are very nice! |
