I agree, everyone has to start somewhere! I would buy a Yorkie from someone like you, because you seem to really CARE about breeding properly, and you will learn lots from doing just that. From reading here, I know that not everything can be read by reading, you must experience some things to really "get it".

What would you do if the mother dog got into trouble during labor? The moms generally have small litters, and sometimes require have C-sections .It is an enormous responsibilty that should not be taken lightly for anyone, regardless of age.
I am thinking that once the novelty wears off that you will more interested in dating, and your education, rather then devoting ALL of your time with breeding.:aimeeyork
Once the novelty wears off:eek: I don't see any dog as a novelty and should'nt be judged by the stereotypical teen that throws one thing off for another every two seconds because that is not me. Yes more dreams and goals may arise but thats no reason to put another passion on the back burner. So no my "passion" for dogs will never die nor will my passion to own and breed yorkies so that others will have the chance to own such a wonderful breed and help improve it. Also I will have a 24 hour vet on call during all births. I AM 17 FOR GODS SAKE I THINK IF I WAS THAT INTERESTED IN DATING I WOULDVE STARTED BY NOW! AND EVEN IF I DO DATE HOW MANY BREEDERS DO YOU KNOW THAT ARE MARRIED OR IN RELATIONSHIPS??? I KNOW A LOTTTT! Don't mean to sound rude or offensive but I know what it takes and know how much or a responsibility it is but it seems as though most of the people on her even though they say they aren't are underestimating me because of my age (IMO). I guess we'll see in the years to come.

You should not buy the stud first and never a young puppy...you are starting on the wrong foot..get a mentor first, learn all that is possible before you buy a dog, go to Dog shows, then get a quality bitch, buy top of the line stud service the first few times from your mentor or their friends...keep the best of the best bitches and look for a super stud to compliment them...by that time you will be 25 or so and being 17 will no longer be a road block.

I think we are also seeing a maturity issue.

No its just a little frustrating to see so many doubts alot of YT'ers are helping me but most are just giving doubts I mean wee all have our own personal opinions but once very experienced about 10 years from now I would like to help anyone wanting to breed yorkies instead of doubt them as I know the more people I help breed the better off the breed will be instead of a bunch a breeders not knowing what to do because no one's willing to help but every one is willing to criticize.

Sorry, I see you have a mentor...did your mentor okay the 2 pound stud for a novice..if so, get another mentor. Most 2 pound studs are unable to breed without a great deal of help...I have spent a good part of my life sitting on the floor breeding studs for breeders who could not do it....best wishes...

I was stating my personal opinions only about Your question to this site. I am sorry you felt threatned and went on the defensive.
Please remember that you may not get "everybody" to feel like it is such a wonderful idea to take on such a tremendous task and resonsiblity.
I am all for the dogs and what is best for each and every one of them. NO offense. :animal36

I think its great that you have a dream to be the best. Why breed if you arent striving for the best?? But, you seem to want it all and want it now! You seem to think that the very experienced long time breeders on here dont know what they are talking about or you just dont want to listen. You only seem to want to take advice from someone who agrees with you.(you only hear what you want to hear) Thats what I mean by a maturity. And 10 years down the road, you may have wonderful Yorkies after years of heartaches of bad breeding. Wouldnt it be smarter to listen and learn before you jump right in to breeding? I think that everyone on YT is willing to help you and give advice. Its up to you to listen and think about it. Alot of this advice is not what you are going to want to hear at this time. A reputable experience show breeder would not let you breed a 2 lb stud that has never been shown or evaluated to 3 of her bitches. Please take baby steps into this breeding goal of yours. STOP, LOOK, AND LISTEN!!!

I totally understand, I am totally fine with people think its just saddening to see people rather criticize new breeders rather than help them (not you) Im saying breeders in general seem to look down on new breeders but everyone was once a "new breeder" and maybe if we all pitched in to help all "new breeders" and teach them what should be and shouldn't be done then the yorkie wouldn't be subject to so many BYB if we really cared for the yorkie breed we would help all interested instead of put them down.:rolleyes:

Sorry, I disagree with you. I don't see this as a maturity issue. I see a prejudiced, stereotypical issue of what people think of when they hear the word "teenager." I am a teenager - I'm 15 - and when I hear people saying things like that...talking to me like I'm an irresponsible, uneducated idiot who is only interested in boys, partying, and making money, I tend to get a little annoyed too.

I agree this:A reputable experience show breeder would not let you breed a 2 lb stud that has never been shown or evaluated to 3 of her bitches. is advice thats not what people were giving. Just as Yorkie Rose recommended get your female first and stud her out to nice top of the line champion males which I listened to and took into consideration. But I can't listen to something that is meant to doubt me but I will listen to advice that is given to be advice anyday:)

You can "teach" bybrs and first time breeders until you are blue in the face. But after awhile, you just have to say "Im done" Evidentally, the first time breeder or bybr does not want advice and will never LISTEN to advice. So, they stay where they are with no improvements and poor quality Yorkies. IE: a Back Yard Breeder!!! But they do make the backs.
