Welcome to the site, ReconsGrandpa. It's always nice to have another man around. And don't worry. No matter what they say, you don't have to call your dogs "babies."

Elvis- german shorthair pointer he is about 4 also and my hunting buddy. Great hunting dog.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Villette, you are funny. Kelly has talked alot about how she adores your girls and you. So I hear you are "the yorkie"? haha

Thank you all for the compliments on my daughter also. I raised her almost on my own along with my 3 boys. Thier mom wasn't very into her children. They used to go everywhere with me and did everything with me. Kelly will tell you I can do one mean french braid. I used to do her hair when she would get ready for school when she was little.

Socal, I will never own another westie. Oliver is the meanest little sh** I have ever met. He terrorizes the other dogs. Messes in the house. Barks at everything, hates everyone, and never listens. Stubborn doesn't even begin to describe him.

yeah i dont call my dogs babies. They are my pups or my homies. (kelly reminds me that I am not black everytime I call them my homies) so to annoy her I keep calling them that.

Your "homies!" I love it!!!!!! Sounds like Oliver needs counseling............

I also think it takes a real man to not only do French braids, but to tell about it! You go Dad! BTW, I haven't learned how to do the braids yet!

Here are a few pictures of Elvis and one of Xander, THey are the only ones that I have access to from here.


My kids used to dress Elvis up when he was a pup. Well, Kelly did cause she thinks he is cute. SO this year for Easter I dressed him up for her and the grandkids.

Well, just welcome to you!! I just looked at the pics and your hunting buddy looks so like my sons dog, Lefty, who is a German short-haired.. I love most dogs and yours sure seem loved!! So, we look forward to hearing more from you...

"Homies" works for me. And, don't worry, when it comes to daughters, you don't lose any "man points" for knowing how to French braid. You sound like a great daddy.

Hello and Welcome to YT!! I, too, LOVE your daughter!! Can't wait to hear about all of the grandpa adventures! My dad has tons of stories about my yorkies and I love to hear of others!!

I'm ROLLING on the floor here reading your posts ...(well...maybe not quite Rolling....If I were athletic I would be) :D ....You GO homie ! you just call them what you want...I can just HEAR Kelly telling you that - and now I can picture you ignoring her ! ...you guys sould like you have a great relationship...I know she's VERY proud of you.

After reading your description of your kids that Kelly posted I already knew you had a great sense of humor - and now I can see it's FOR REAL - It's REALLY nice having you here and I hope you make a habit of it !

HAHA - There ya go ....THIS is coming from a MAN -

Heck my mom can't braid period... let alone a french braid.
