Esme had the MOST exciting day!
 

We went to my parents house for a barbeque today. They have a swimming pool and although Esme has been there pretty much once a week since we got her in January, she has never been in their yard much, so she has never had much exposure to their pool. Today, she bounced out to the backyard and walked RIGHT INTO the pool. It was like she didn't even know it was there. My husband (the hero) took off running accross the yard, and jumped in to save her with his clothes and sneakers on! Obviously, Esme could swim... but he said that he jumped in because he thought that her hair would weigh her down and she would drown!

We changed into our swimsuits and Esme intentionally jumped in the pool some more. It was fun to watch her swim.

My dad barbequed ribs and if Esme could speak English, she would say that the VERY BEST part of her day was when she got to chew on her first rib bone. It was cute because my mom has two pomeranians and the three of them chewed on their bones side by side. I WISH I would have brought my camera! My sister took pictures, but her camera is not digital, so I have to wait for her to develop them to scan it in and share with you guys.

Anyhow, we got home, Esme got her bath and below is a picture of what is presently happening in my living room. ;)

Looks like Esme and her daddy partied hard...:-) I've always wondered if Pippa would swim given the chance. She doesn't like her bath so well. Have you seen the video of VainChick's Coco swimming in the bathtub? It's so funny. I bet Esme was a little pro!

Well...I spent EQUAL time looking at Esme and her ummm....bed....and what a bed it is ! YOW ......He's...I mean... SHE'S SO CUTE !

It sounds like you all had so much fun - I wish I could have seen that baby swimming too - how cute that must have been.

Thanks for the warning Diane! I kept a real close eye on her and as soon as she got the bit of meat that was left off, I took the bone away from her! :)

LOL! My husband would be so happy to hear that compliment. He spends many hours at the gym! Of course, I could never share it with him because he would KILL me if he knew I just posted that picture of him!!! :p

It looks like they sure had fun! It so much fun to hear about our babies adventures!

He doesn't know I even took the picture! He's SLEEPING! ;) What is he wearing?!?!?... uuuhh... I really want to say NOTHING, but I can't lie! He's got boxers on! ;) LOL!

I for one ....will NEVER tell your man he is now famous for being an International Internet Model wearing nothing but a yorkie.

Gus loves the pool,,, well not so much swimming. He loves to hang out on the raft with me. He will swim but he likes to be held in the pool. He cries for me to get him everytime I'm in the pool. He has never jumped in. I accedently kicked him in one time. I was cleaning the pool and he got in the way when I went to step in to cool my feel off. He swam right to me and wanted me to hold him. So now when I go swimming I have to sneak out.

As for rib bones, I give them to Gus. But I take it away after about an hour or so. Never had a problem outside of the fact that he is very protective over it and wont let anyone near but me.

IT SOUNDS LIKE SHE HAD LOTS OF FUN GOOD FOR ESME :p :thumbup:

I forgot to add,,,,, very cute pic. Always love looking at half nude, good looking men. And with a yorkie too!!! YES LOL

Great Photo! Loved the dog---and the man was something too! lol! We are going camping this weekend. First time for Snoodles---sure hope she behaves. She can be a butt sometimes! especially when we are trying to set up camp! Think I will take my stake with me so she will behave a bit until we get set up. Maybe I will throw her in the lake! Just kidding! It is a cold, cold lake!

Esme did have a BIG day! Isn't fun when the dogs love to swim? I am so glad mine like it because my whole family are swimmers and we love the water. Sounds like yours does to. Your family barbecue sounds great! I'd like soem of those ribs please!! :D

lol I enjoyed reading this post . You sound like you all had a very fun day. The picture is cute, I love the few pictures that I can sneak of my Hubby and my Yorkies. I agree I dont think your Hubby would be to up set after reading some of the post villette had me cracking up. Who knows Hubby might start posing for you.

It sounds like she had a great day!! My female Sweet Pea loves our pool, my male Sebastian hates it. LOL, but I make them swim at least a few times a week so they know how to get out.

Be sure to watch those bones. I had a mini poodle who got ahold of some cooked bones. He got a bowel obstruction from them and had to have them surgically removed.
