Skin condition Samson has dry skin. It looks like there is dandruff. He also scratches a lot. Is there anything that I can use to improve his dry skin? Shampoos? Dietary? HELP! He's driving us crazy and I know it's not pleasant for him either. |
There are a lot of medicated shampoo's, anti-itch spray, etc you can get. I would probably check with your vet also. When my dogs scratch, I put their bell collars on to drive me crazy until I get it fixed. It gets easier to ignore that scratching. My Bronx scratches his ears, the vet says he does not have ear mites and gave me a $40 solution to put in his ears. Now I shave behind his ears and put anti-itch roll-on behind his ears. (you can't really tell they are shaved) That way I can see the red skin where he scratches and he doesn't like the taste of the roll on. |

any shampoo with tea tree oil in it will help with the itching. |
thats what rosie had and the vet said she had mites, shes been on antibiotics special shampoo for her skin because she had scratch herself bald and red raw, she is still on the antibiotics and will be for a little while yet, as the mite she has takes a lot of dedicated team work with the vet and myself. i all ways say thank goodness i got her and noone who has no patience or love for the little girl. i hope your baby hasnt got this mite and it is just dry skin, if so use the oatmeal shampoo my vet recomends it for dogs with sensitive skin wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |
try the Derm Caps, they work great for dry skin. I have used them and was very pleased with the results. You can find them in your pet store, vets carry them and online. |
I agreed with everyone you can used an Oatmeal shampoo and switch her food. I think a trip to the vet is imp to rule out any contagious skin problem. Good luck. |
Sometimes peoples don't rinse there little one enough . Gioia have had this problem so at her last visit to the vet , she check her skin and told me that if I took a little more time to rinse her , it will go away . I try it and it is okay now . |
