Happy News! Linus is going to be a big brother! I finally cracked and decided that he needs a K9 playmate. I'm picking up my new little boy on Monday. Does anyone have tips for introducing them and the first few weeks? I want to make sure that I make the transition as smooth as possible for both puppies (Linus is almost 1yr old!). Thanks! |
No advice for you...but congrats!! |
Congrats!!! I have introduced 4 yorkies (RIP Dixie) into my home with my older pom over the past 3 years and I just supervised them whenever I bring in a new one and Ihave had no problems, they do go thru a period of adjustment where they want all my attention but within days they are all doing great. |
congratulations!!!!!! I'm just they are both gonna do fine, since Linus still under 1 year. |
Congradulations!!! Is your new little boy a yorkie? What is his name? You'll have to post pics! I have 2 boys but I did not need to introduce them, they were litermates so they have been side by side since birth. |
Thanks for the responses! I hope that they get along! The new boy is a yorkie as well, and I'm going to name him Kimchee. I will definitely post some pictures next week! |
:aimeeyorkCongradulations:D Two is twice the fun with Yorkies:D I only have one little 13 week old. AND already wanting anther too |
We are up to 3 yorkies now. You will do fine just let them get to know each other the first week. The most important is to let the new one get enough sleep as the older one usually wants to play and your new little guy doesn't understand yet what is going on. I had to keep my older one away from the newest one. It was funny she would watch him sleep and wait for her to wake up so she could touch her. I have pictures with her looking off the edge of the bed and not bothering her. They will make it fine. Can't wait to see pictures of them both. |
