question about pricing hey everyone! i had a quick question. while ive been looking at different breeders' web sites, some have prices, some don't. i found few breeders where dogs go from $500-$3000 (from one site!) so i was wondering how breeders determine which dog is worth $500, which $3000 and etc.? |
Easy way to get an answer would be to ask that breeder. They must have valid reasons for the varied pricing of their dogs. It could be some of their dogs are older, some are perhaps show quality or pet quality. Maybe some will be for breeding... There's so many reasons for high and low pricing. I'd be interested to hear their response if you ask them. |

so maybe that's why my mickey was only $400 10 years ago. he's about 9ishlbs. he is georgeous looking (not saying because he's mine but compared to my friends yorkies) |
pricing is complicated Be careful of any breeder who posts prices on a web site. I set my prices mainly by pedigree quality, conformation as best as it can be determined on a 12 week old puppy, and anticipated size at maturity. I do not breed to get tinies but the occasional one I get generally commands a higher price due to the large numbers of people looking for them and the additional care they require as babies. |
