New plus some questions :) Heres my baby Riley... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...5/Riley010.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...5/Riley009.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...5/Riley008.jpg I also have a few questions. I know most yorkies are expensive ranging anywhere from $600-$2000. I had always wanted a yorkie and was very lucky(I guess you could say) to find a breeder who was selling the males for $300 and females for $500. I got Riley, who is a male, but I have been a little frustrated when a few people would tell me he doesnt look like a yorkie, however, people who have had yorkies knew right away what he was. I didnt do much research on the breeder and unforunately I think Riley came from a puppy mill. I didnt even get to see the parents. I wanted to ask everyone if they thought he looked like a yorkie and also, he is 11 weeks and 2.4lbs, with the experience from your puppies, can you estimate how big you think he will big. Another question is, is it normal for him to breath so quickly, or even pant, when he is just laying down? He is a healthy puppy, up to date on shots, very playful and eats and drinks. THANKS GUYS!!! :) |
Aww Riley is so cute!!! He looks all Yorkie to me ;) and a sweet one at that :) |
Looks all Yorkie to me too. SO cute! I don't know about the breathing....mine certainly doesn't do that...but someone will come along with an answer, I'm sure. Have you asked the vet? |
oooh he looks all yorkie to me! absolutely adorable! people who dont know yorkies probably dont know they look a bit different when they are pups! ignore em! haha riley is super cute! |
He looks like a yorkie to me but I have seen some mixed that look more yorkie than some Akc yorkies. I would say unless it is warm the breathing thing is not norm. and would call my vet and see what they say. |
I agree with everyone else, he looks like a Yorkie! He's a cutie. Unless you know the weight of the parents and can be a little hard to take a guess at what he will weigh as an adult. Is the temp of your house warmer than what he was used to, so it might make him hot? Thats the only thing I can think of that would make him pant. You could ask your vet about his breathing |
He is precious and certainly looks like any other yorkie. One of the first things you want to do, if you haven't already, is to take him to the vet to be checked out to be certain you have a healthy little guy. Just guessing I would say he might be in the 7 lb range. It's hard to say. They all grow at different rates and have different growth spurts. Anyway, he's precious and I hope you both have many happy years together. Don't let other people's opinions influence how you feel about your puppy. As I said, check with the vet on the breathing, so you can know if he's all right. That's the best thing to do for him. Take care and keep us updated. |
Oh yes, he is definitely a Yorkie, & a cute one too! :) Don't listen to other people when they say that he isn't. Yorkies come in different sizes :) As for the breathing, I agree with everyone else - take him to the vet just to be sure that everything is ok. Amy |
Hey is sooo cute and to me he is a yorkie ! :) Me too havent seen Snickers his parents.. but im very lucky that he was healthy... he is only bigger then expected.. i think Riley is really cute ! :) but if you havent visit a vet yet.. please do and let him check him out. Snickers was breathing very fast and heavy the first few weeks.. probably because he is a puppy.. but im not a vet ofcourse.. have fun and good luck with your little furbaby ! :) |

How big is he? |
Yorkie all the way!! ;) He sure is a cute one too. He has a very nice coat. Keep in mind that Yorkies are black when born and lighten with age. I'd say by his current weight, he could be 7 to 8 pounds fully grown, but then you can't always tell. |
What a cutie patootie you have there, certainly looks like a yorkie to me!! |
he looks like a true yorkie to me... |
aww he is for sure a yorkie!!! how adorable!!! congrats!! i agree with what everyone else says about it being hot and asking your vet! |
