Welcome to YT:) You can probably find all of your answers on YorkieTalk. Just use the "Search" as the top of this screen or post your questions. Does this dog shake when it hasn't eaten in awhile or right after it has eaten or all the time? |
omg yes the shaking is normal. he is just scared. wen i first got Abby she wud shake alll dayyyy n nightttt, even in her sleep she wud shake. it was so depressing n i was in tears the whole first week. believe me this is normal. he probably wont eat much either. he has to adjust to the change cuz this is very traumatic to them. imagine u as a 3 year old n then all of a sudden ur taken away from ur parents into these strangers house? u r gonna b miserable. anyway as for the nails, u can have ur vet do it wen u take him. u can get abook but ppl here are very helpful, hey they helped me not to slit my wrists wen i got Abby. good luck w ur baby n show us some picss. i say give it about 2 weeks or so n he shud b ok |
Please read and get to a vet if this does not stop. Yorkie | Yorkshire Terrier | Hypoglycemia Information Welcome to YT. |

This is not usually normal though unless your pup is scared. If it happens right after eating there could be a big problem. If it happens when your pup hasn't eaten in a long time it could be hypoglycemia. Has he been to the vet yet? |
Deadly plants and foods Also, A MUST is the list of dangerous and deadly plants/foods for yorkies. I know there is a link to these SOMEWHERE on YT. Anybody???? |
A book I really like is "The loved dog" by Tammar Gellar |
welcome, and dont be afraid to ask questions, thats what we are all here for... |
|
The book that really helped me out was Yorkshire Terrier for Dummies :) It was very helpful & had a lot of great information in there! Amy |
I dont know the answer to all your questions but... does the puppy shake all the time. If he does, im sure thats not normal, but mine shakes after a bath cause I dont think he likes it very much plus hes probably a little bit chilly. Also, be VERY careful cutting the dogs nails considering the veins that are in them. If you are too scared to cut them yourself let a groomer do it |
Welcome to YT!! You are going to get alot of great info here and I would most def take all the advice above!! |
Hi welcome to YT!!! I just wanted to share something that helped us with the shivering and the extra anxiety. My vet recommended a D.A.P. collar when we got copper and it really helped him with regaining confidence. They also have a spray and a plug in. The collar looks like a flea collar and that part wasn't so appealing but it is definately worth looking into. I think if I need to use it again for travel or a new puppy I would try the spray. Good luck with your new puppy :) |
