I had taken action here in NYC. These are just some steps I had taken so far. Get the Kit The Dog Savers Kit has everything you’ll need to start spreading the word about puppy mills in your community, including printed materials, letter templates, tips for developing legislation and activity ideas. The kit is designed to help you discuss the puppy mill issue accurately and intelligently, whether speaking to friends and family or the local media. $3.00 each. Download the order form » |
You might also: Forward to a Friend Know someone who is thinking about bringing a puppy into their family? Send them a message with a link to the Stop Puppy Mills website so they can read our puppy buying tips, sign the pledge and learn more about puppy mills. |
Lobby for Better Laws Contact your federal and state legislators and let them know that you’re concerned about the inhumane treatment of dogs in puppy mills and want the puppy mill issue to be a priority for congress. Ask them to expand the reach of the Animal Welfare Act to include kennels that sell large numbers of puppies directly to the public and to ban the imports of puppies for resale. more » |
Speak Up Writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper is a great way to get the word out about puppy mills in your community. Write your own version—a short, polite letter is most effective—or download a Microsoft Word version of the template that you can alter. Download the sample letter » |

Was she willing to let you come look at the dog first? My husband had a co-worker in a similar situation with a french bulldog, only she (was dumb enough to) pay for the dog and then have it shipped, only to find out it was a scam. It ended up w her hiring a lawyer, who told her that about 80% of ads like these, especially ones that include only an email address as a contact are scams. Bulldogs are a big "scam"dogs. But you did call her, so obvi you have her number. Just a little tidbit I thought I'd share. Good luck! |
This may be a stupid question, but what is a kennel reduction? Whatever it is, it sounds terrible. |
sad isn't it? :( we have many of these ads around where I live due to all the amish who breed multiple breeds for profit. Kennel reduction ads and dog auction ads all the time :( |
hi I am new to this forum. I have been breeding yorkies for almost 20 years. I live on Vancouver Island and my husband is a retired veterinarian and these yorkies are our babies and our hobby. Sara |

Around here it often mean that a person is getting rid of his or her dogs that are too old or don't want to pay for the sick ones , so they let them go for lower prices . As soon as the little one is not there anymore , they buy another one . To continue the puppymills . |
I wonder if we will be seeing more "kennel reductions" now that the economy isnt so great?? |
