Breed All About It Has the Yorkshire Terrier episode came on yet? (for those that don't know what the show is: They pick a breed and make an episode about it) |
i havent seen one yet :( |
If you look on tvguide it will tell you the future breeds they will be showing. I don't think they are showing old episodes and will be doing breeds they haven't done before.. so no Yorkies :( They did yorkies the 1st or 2nd season and I was hoping they would show the old ones... This week epidose is Great Pyrenees and they will be showing Bichon Frise next week. |
Sounds like an interesting show...is that the name of the show?? Do you know the channel/times??? I love dog shows or shows about dogs of any kind!! :D |

I've seen it twice and was kinda disappointed on how they portrayed the breed. |

There is a stereotype of a small yappy dog. They say owners of small breeds aren't as likely to train the dogs as the owners of the larger breeds. I've never believed that "spoiling" included allowing a dog to do whatever it wants, however some people feel differently. Yorkies are smart, and many are just smarter than their human owners. :D I do agree with you, that you can train them not to bark. Regarding wanting to "pick fights with other dogs" I think many will say this is part of the "attitude" of a Yorkie, they may be small, but there letting the "big" dogs know, "you better not mess with me." |

Yeah, I know what you mean, before I got Joey, so many people had this attitude about yorkies, and tried to talk me out it. I'm so glad I found YT because I think you get a much better idea of typical yorkie behavior, and YT helped me decide that a yorkie was right for me. |
I never wanted a yorkie because of the way Mike's grandmothers dogs acted. They are horrible, they bark at EVERYTHING, Her dog Roxie is just plain MEAN. She will growl and try to bit you if you go near anything she has or is sitting on. I know that sometimes she's being protective of Mike's grandmother, but she doesn't need to be so mean. Mercedes barks at people on the street behind out house and will keep barking no matter what. But once we got our puppies they were just wonderful, and even though they bark, they are still great because they actually listen to us. Quote:
Thanks!! |
Matty likes to yap, but Kalina is quiet as a mouse!! Both of them are gentle as lambs. My pet peeve is when someone calls them "ankle biters". They are anything but ankle biters - neither of them have ever nipped at anyone EVER!! :( |
I don't and would never consider them "ankle biters". Now "finger biters" I can say about Legacy and Impreza. They LOVE to play and to lightly bit our fingers. |
