are two better than one ?? hi every one, I see alot of owners on this site have two or more yorkies, is two better than one ??we have a six month old girl, but work is increasing , im feeling guilty leaving her every day to spend it on her own with the radio just for company, she does nt play with her toys or eat anything till we return home any thoughts and advice ?? she is a lively well mannered sweet dog and very people friendly... |
I definitely think that having two is better than one. At first, I felt super guilty about bringing another dog in that stole all the attention from Franklin but as they have learned to get along, having a companion has really made him happier, I think. |
I found that two was better than one. Initially I had two brothers who played beautifully together. When I lost Merlin to illness, MacTavish became quiet and withdrawn with nobody to play with. A month later, I got Madeline and MacTavish was up and playing again. I believe it is good for them. |
I agree, two is way better then one. Its nice for them to have a companion and so much fun to watch them play and interact! |
I want another one :( LOL but my partner wont let me as we already have a golden lab! but Bailey does play with Leah (lab) LOADS so i think if Bailey was by himself i would have got another one yeah :D |
3 Two are better then one and three are better then two! LOL |
I think so. I'm smitten! I think two keep each other company, but it's definitely more work. For me, though, having 2 is the same as I felt when I had 2 children. It's the perfect number. |

I defiantly agree, two is better......I felt so sorry for Jack, sometimes he seemed so lonely....Since Jake has been here they play and he they seem so much happier.....if you are able I would do it, the sooner the better so they can bond at an early age......Good luck! |
I have 2 sibling sisters. They are as different as day from night. One 10lb. one 5lb.s I can't imagine one without the other. The larger one-Fergie, plays with the socker ball bumping it with her nose and the smaller one,Binky, acts like her cheerleader cheering her on. Fergie is always tempting Binky to do things that are no nos. Never a dull moment. 2 is definately better. |
We got Hallee 10 months after we had Gracie. They are great together. They are sisters. One of their parents are the same. They have totally different personalities and it is great to have them both. They have each other when we are not home and it is so fun to watch them play with each other. I don't know what they would do without each other. I would not change a thing about getting the both of them, their my babies. |
I agree with everyone else...When you have two, they can keep each other company and not feel lonely. I have a yorkie and a maltese and I couldn't be happier. |
eabsolutely. Yorkies are very social and they hate to be alone. If you cannot afford a second one, a kitten will do. |
Max is turning 3 years old this nov. would it be to late to bring another baby in to the family? He is very possessive and demands our attention all day. |
I really enjoy having two. They are also great about keeping each other company |
