I am so mad My neighbor gave chachi a cooked bone and I didnt notice untill he had it gnawed down! I told my neighbor to never give them anything without asking me again. This isnt the first time he has given them things but iit was harmless before and never hurt them. Now I just have to hope the bone fragments dont pierce his stomach or intestines:thumbdown |
oh wow Chach - that's taking nice neighbor a little too far - lots of people know most bones are very dangerous for dogs - I hope it wasn't a chicken bone ! Good luck !! tell your neighbor he's on a special diet and NO MORE FOOD ever ...that way you don't have to explain anything else to them - |
I hate when people just totally disregard what you say in regards to YOUR pets. That being said...as a kid owned lots and lots of dogs who routinely ate cooked bones from ALL sources and every one of them lived to ripe old ages without any complications from those bones. I think Chachi will be fine. :) |
I'm sure he didn't mean any harm..... but it is a good thing you confronted him!!! He probably didn't know the dangers....and probably didn't know any better. |
That naughty Chachi, doesn't he know any better? The first thing I taught Joey was NEVER accept bones from strangers!! :D Seriously, I agree with Bchgirl, when I think of all the bones, especially chicken bones that our dogs ate before we knew better, it's a wonder any of them survived. I wonder how many days it takes before you know the dog's in the clear, anybody know? Hope everything goes well, and I hope your neighbor listens because I have a feeling Chachi might want to visit him again. |
Totally inappropriate :thumbdown:thumbdownI would never do that. How do they know your pup doesn't have an allergy? I think people really have no clue, or don't care. I hope everything turns out o.k. I had a holiday picnic, and people were throwing chicken bones on the ground!!! I had yo amke an LOUD announcement not to feed my dogs anything. |
OMG Lisa, that is terrible . . .oh I would sooo feel bad if anything happened to chachi . . . I hope your neighbor knows how MAD you are . . . |
That's awful. Your neighbor should definitely know better! What was he thinking (then again, I guess he wasn't!!!!) Don't blame you a bit for being angry!:thumbdown |
I had that problem when my grandfather had some chicken bones from KFC that he said would be fine for Teddy. And proceeded to give him one. I told him, "no, he can't have things like that." I spent the next 48 hours making sure he was able to poop it out without a problem. Thank goodness he was alright. I don't ever want to go through that again. No I only allow them to give him food when I'm present. Hope your little one is okay |
