Pixie and Roxie have surgery next week I just got back from the vet. Pixie was in for a recheck on her bad gum disease and after 8 weeks of faithfully wiping, brushing and applying Petzlife her teeth and gums have not improved much. One of her front teeth is also loose and she in only 2 1/2. The vet and i discussed and decided she needed a dental to get it all cleaned up and then I should be able to stay on top of it. She did her bloodwork and it was fine, then she checked Cali for her scratching and we are going to start her back on the Atopica with a little steroid for a few days and see if she can tolerate the Atopica this time. Then I had Roxie with and I asked her about getting her spayed and she prefers to spay prior to heat and we are afraid Roxie is nearing that time so she said she could do both Pixie's dental and Roxie's spay next Tuesday. Now I am a wreck. Pixie will be on antibiotics 4 days prior to surgery and 5 days after, her blood work was good and the vet said she would take very precaution. I keep worrying that maybe I should forget the dental but her teeth and gums are terrible and I would rather get her done while she is young and avoid health problems down the road. Please keep Pixie and Roxie in your prayers, I am soooo scared. Thanks |
Aaawwww ... I hope all will go well ... :) |
Oh, I feel for you having to go through that with two furkids at the same time. I'm sure everything will come out just fine — in a way it's good because you can get both out of the way on the same day — which means one day of worrying, rather than two separate days! Good luck to you and your little ones! Everything will be great! |
I'll be praying for your babies...I'd be a wreck too! |
I am sorry! I know everything will go well.:D |
That's rough having two at the same time, however, you will be getting it over with in one shot too. Best wishes too the girls. I am sure all will be just fine. |
Thanks. I figured that too get them both done and they will be together at the vets. I just keep worrying what if something happens and she could have lived without the dental probably |
Hi Patti! You can count on prayers from me. I know how worried you are and I'm sure they will both come through it just fine. It's going to be so hard for you to take them that morning and leave them. Wish I was there to help you through the day. I think you are making the right choice! Dental problems can lead to problems and this way, you'll be giving Pixie a healthier life. How old is Roxie now? Has she lost all her baby teeth? If not, you might want to get some teeth pulled while she is under for her spay, so you don't end up having to do that at a later date! Sending lots of hugs and I hope Tuesday comes and goes fast so the worry can be behind you. |

I think the dental is very important Patti. Bacteria can spread threw her body and even go to the heart if the problem really gets bad. Your doing the right thing for her. Think postive thoughts only. She'll be fine and and her breath will be kissing sweet.;) |
It's gonna be a long week worrying..huh? Prayers and hugs coming from Virginia. |
Thanks all. Connie I know I can count on your support always!!! Archie I know you are right. Her breath has always been bad and I do worry she seems quieter lately and I don't want her infection spreading. Thanks that made me feel like it is the right thing. Deb you are so right it it will be a long week. |
I'll pray for them . |
