Bottle Water Is bottle water safe for furbabies..I have been using it for years but someone told me it is not good for them (I don't see how that can be true since tap water is full of who knows or wants to know what)... :):animal36 |

The water where I live is bad, dogs, cats and people have gotten kidney stones. You can actually see black/brown specs and what I call skin floating in the water. So I only give my puppy distilled water to drink. |
I give my dogs bottled water, but I think the reason they may have said something about bottled water being bad is because of the plastic... |
both me and my London only drink bottled water or filtered refrigerator water. I don't like the taste of tap water so I figure she doesn't either. |

Bottled water actually contains certain "bacterias", despite what everyone useually thinks, the types depend on where that water comes from and the filter they use to clean it...The filters will clean out some bacterias and leave others. Most tap water has fluoride in it, and hard water contains calcium and magnesium and soft water contains sodium and potassium. Hope that helps some, I don't know of a definite answer as to which is better for dogs, I usually fill Duke's water bowl with tap but he gets bottled water if I take him somewhere with me. |

Mine drink bottled spring water if I see the bowl is low and I have water in my hand...and tap (well) if I see the bowl is low and I don't have a bottle in my hand. :) But I can tell you one thing...none of us like city water or purified water (like Aquafina). No matter how thirsty they are, I can't get them to drink city water. They will eat snow in the dead of winter first. |
I give my two, bottled spring water that comes in a gallon plastic container. |
I give Odie bottled water or filtered water I don't like tap water ewww nasty stuff, I wouldn't expect to give it to my furbaby. If I wouldn't eat/drink it then why would I give it to my pet, whether I had a cat or a dog ??? :confused: |
Changed to bottled water (not distilled) when my daughter who's in pharmacy school came home and told me that fluoride was dangerous for animals. It's in our city water. My dh and I never drink tap water. It comes from the local lake and he claims he's seen minnows coming out of the tap. I think not, but it makes gross images. |
I give mine distilled as advised by breeder, maybe I better switch off to tap and distilled. |

I'm not sure I'm convinced though, since people on here do know whats best...right? |
