just suddenly peed all over the floor!!! whats going on? ok so my 1 and half year old jack russell just suddenly stood up and peed on my floor!! without going to the door or any warning...and they just finished yesterday with anitbiotics for coccidia...so whats going on? he has been fully trust worthy on potty training for about 9 months now. is there anything i should be worried about? i remember reading that some of the symptoms of coccidia is sudden bowel movements that sometimes surprise them...also i should mention that earlier this evening he almost didnt make it out side either...but we let him out and i went with them (to outside) and he barley made it off the porch and into the grass and peed for a very long time...this was about 2 hours before he peed on the floor. i think im going to call the vet in the morning but...has anyone had this happened to them? should i be worried? he never does anything like this!!!! he is such a good dog that, if some of you remember i posted about him throwing up after eating ice...that he tried not to even throw up inside he tried to get to the door to throw up outside. im just so worried because he has never had a probelm untill after my yorkie was diagnosed with coccidia and the vet had me start coccidia antibiotics over a week ago! any suggestions? |
I would add a probiotic/ acidophilus in your Jack's food. Remember, antibiotics kill all the good bacteria as well as the bad stuff. Probiotic can rebalance the gut and help keep the good bacteria alive. As far as randomly peeing - I have two puppies - a 9 month old and a 14 month old and have been potty training for almost a year straight! My best piece of advice is that sometimes they have accidents, even when they know better. Puppies are so fickle that way! Its smart to call your vet, in case anything is going on, but my guess is that he just regressed a little today. Keep up your training. Your pup will get it!! |
Since this is unusual for him, I would call the vet. He may have a UTI or something. Let us know how he is. |
I agree - it may be a UTI, which could have been triggered by the lack of good bacteria from his most recent course of antibiotics. In that case I would especially recommend a pro-biotic!!!! Let us know what happens! |
