How long till the hair turns color? Or maybe it wont. My two babies are almost 10 months old. They still have the majority of the black on their backs still there. There hair around the face changed to a light brown/caramel color. Do you think this is the color they will stay? there is some gray coming in on the back. unless there still young and it will change. most i've seen who are a year, already changed color fully it seems. what do you think? I don't know much about the hair changing color as you can tell lol. before we got them we got books on them and recently got a magazine, but neither said much about the hair color or changing. Thanks. |
I think you'll get a variety of answers on this. It depends on the dog. One of my boys started getting a little silver at about 10 mos. He will be 2 in July and is almost completely silver and gold. The other is 9 mos. and has very little silver, except for on the top of his head. His body is black with maybe a few strands of silver. I think he will stay black. I love all the color changes!:) |
puppy color stages the above link should help, there are pictures at different ages or "Buster" hope this helps |

3 Attachment(s) My baby is 9 months old and as you can see from the picture, she is still very dark on her face, and hind legs areas. She has some very light hair on her face but all covered by black hair. Her eyes are kinda burried in her dark facial hair. My boy who is now 2.5 years old, when he was 9 months old, his facial hair has turned golden and we can clearly 'find' his eyes, although his body hair stays dark/silver right now. As previous posters said, it really depends on each dog. I have seen 2 yorkies had a dramatic changed (from black to completely golden) when they were 12 years old. Attached Pictures: 1) When we first took Mochi (girl) home, she was 5 months old. 2) Mochi now, 9 months old. 3) Kimchee (boy) when he was 9 months old. |
