Different Cuts Does anyone have their Yorkies in a different style cut besides the "Puppy cut" or having their hair grown out long? I've seen a Pom with like a "lion cut" and thought it was really cute. Bella needs to go back to the groomer again soon and I'm not sure if I want to grow her hair out or do a different type of cut. Please post pictures if your little ones have an out of the ordinary cut. Thanks! :) |
Funny you mentioned a lion cut. I have always thought they were cute! Very different, but cute. I may do that one day. |
I have seen some with a Schnauzer cut. Shaved down the back and sides w/ hair left on the underside of the body about halfway up and of course on the legs. I can't remember what the head looked like though. |
I think I might do it, I think Bella might get the lion cut! I have to talk it over with my boyfriend to see what he thinks, I'm so giddy about it right now. lol! |
Can they do the 'lion cut' on a yorkie? I though the hair needed to be puffy like a poms? Do you have any pictures of a yorkie in a lion cut? |
hhhmm...no, I dont have a pic of a Yorkie in a lion cut, I was hoping that someone on the board might or have seen one before. I was just going to ask the groomer if it can be done. |
i would really like to see or have a visual of what a lion cut is .... anyone???? |
I have to admit I think this will look bad (not trying to be offensive) in a lion cut they shave everywhere except the end of the tail and the head. Yorkies typically have docked tails so that will be strange and their hair is not fluffy like a poms (unless it is grotesquely matted or something) and so it will not look like a mane I think that it will end up looking psuedo chinese crested like but just wierd. I wouldn't do it,but that is just me...Sorry if I offended you. |

aaawww....cute! well, its just a cut, it'll grow out if it doesnt look good, but I'll consult the groomer and my boyfriend. Everyone is entitled to their opinion so no offense taken here. :) |
1 Attachment(s) this is off the YTCA site happens to be the cutest lion cut Ive ever seen or maybe its the dog wearing it:) |
OMG...so so cute..ok, that little girl's picture is going with me to the groomer! Does anyone else have other types of cut suggestions? I just wanted to try something a little different for the summer. |
Well my 9 daughter just saw your beautiful baby she wants ours like that next time. She loves the braids. |
Ringo's last cut was a modified Westie cut. I don't have a pic of it and his hair has grown out now. I really liked it. It was easier to care for and cute. I will probably get it again. It was cute like a Westie's face and very short on top. He had a skirt with legs like a Schnauzer. He has had so many skin problems that the groomer told me it wouldn't be safe to have him groomed right now. Which I totally agree. She clips around his eyes for me, though. |
i bet it's easier for them to wear clothes with this cut too :) BOTH PICS ARE ADORABLE!!!! :D |
Of course a yorkie would be cute no matter what!!! I just think I am wierd about how my baby looks, because he looks literally just like a little teddy bear with his cut the way it is I just keep it, but they lion cuts look better than I thought they would! |
I clipped Oscar a while ago into a cut similar to the schnauzer cut. I shaved the hair on his back and left the hair on his legs and belly. I also left the hair on his head, and a tuft of hair on his tail. A lot of people in his obedience class complimented us on it. It took some getting used to, but now I love it! :) |
