Should I feel guilty? Should I feel guilty? I am in love with my furbaby. She is like the apple of my eye. I have children mostly grown... but I just love this baby so much. She is 6 months old and is such a joy. She is so smart, cute, pretty. She is amazing. Sherrie |
My 12 year old jokingly uses the "baby" in our house to his advantage..he says " if Rigger had done _____ you wouldn't be mad at him!" It generally makes us laugh and the incident is forgotten. I know just how you feel. I did not know you could love one so much! I have a hard time calling him the "D" word...just a nut about him! |
You know what I think is has to do with where we "are" in life. I've been a yorkie mom much younger, and I don't think I was as good at it as I am now. Now I know I'm better. Just enjoy, aren't they a delight??? |

Not the skin kid using the fur kids LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL |
Nuttso I was beginning to think I was completely nuts. I cannot wait to get off work in the morning because she comes with my husband to pick me up.. She LOVES ME!! LOL and I just think she is AWESOME... She is EMMA by the way. Good thing my kids are crazy about her too or they would probably be jealous!! THat is pitiful....lol |
Yep, I am totally, completely smitten by my furbabies. I can't wait to get home to cuddle with them and enjoy their antics.:D:D:D:D:D I am with Misti1. I wasn't a good furbaby mommy when I was younger. Tried it and failed. Makes me very sad when I think about it. Had to just reach over, disturb them, and give them all a hug.:D |
I don't have any skin kids but my friends that do say that my furbutts have more clothes and get more attention than most peoples human babies!! I think I kiss each of them 100 times a day!! They probably say "Aww, shucks Mom, stop kissing us!!" I don't care if people think I'm a little nuts, they bring such joy to my life! |
I feel the same way. These 2 little furbutts have brought so much joy into my life. Not that my 3 skin boys don't, lol! But when they are all at school or in bed, my furbutts are still right there beside me. No matter where I'm at, kitchen, living room, basement, bathroom, well you get the picture, lol! They are def devoted little angels! I just asked Koda yesterday, "what did I ever do before I got you and sissy?!" My DH was sitting there and heard me and just had to pipe in and say" well lets see, a lot more laundry, and housework, lol!" Who wants to do all that boring stuff when we can be with our babies! Also I think my thing is, that my youngest son will be 5 in Sept and I have been taking care of babies for almost 10 years now. Last year he seemed to grow up so much and find his independence and didn't need his Mommy anymore :( So Koda & Kammie take his place of the 24/7 needy attention, lol! |
I have 5 grown children, 8 grandchildren, and 2 furbabies. I used to think I should be ashamed of all the love and attention I give my dogs. Then I really stopped and thought about it. I love and adore all my kids and my grandchildren; but I am not the center of their world as I am with Darby and Sawyer. Our children are always making new friends, getting involved with outside activities, and bringing other people into their lives to love, and that is a wonderful thing and as it should be. Our furbabies however will always love us best, never compare us to their friends parents, never get too deeply involved in anything , not to be thrilled to see us. My boys have never looked at me like I was from another planet, yelled at how unfair I am, or resent that they still need me sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I have good relationships with my kids, and I adore my granchildren. Still, it feels so wonderful to always be number one in my boys eyes. They think I am the most important person in the world, and when I am with them I think so too. The love in a furbabys eyes when it looks at you is totally priceless. I think that is why the love between us and our furfaces is so strong, it is totally unconditional, and always obvious. Sherry:) |
I love Bella more than anything. She is, the center of my world. And nothing is better than her sweet puppy kisses and that adoring, unconditional love. :p |
puppy kisses I love puppy kisses. Infact, if emma doesnt offer her sweet little nose nudge and kisses, I beg till I get em. My family thinks I'm retarded but really I'm just in love.:p |

I totally agree with you!!! I love my Chi&my Yorkie to death ... I don't know where I would be without them. I have a daughter but my dogs are the ones who keep me company without fail. (My daughter is only thirteen months, so to be honest, she isn't much company!) They keep me feeling safe&secure&they are always there for me&I know that they love me unconditionally. I don't think that you should feel guilty at all! -Amy |
I have to agree with you, my sons are big now, (19 & 13) and pretty much do their own thing. My furbabies mean everything to me. My 13 year old told my mom the other day that I have four kids. Him, his brother and the two babies. But everyone is crazy about them, even my mum has photo's of them with the other grandkids. |
I wish I had gotten a yorkie many many years ago !!! Cooper is also the apple of my eye , my grown children sometimes make coments about he gets more attention then they did .LOL |
