Will I have a big Yorkie? Hey everyone. I have yet again another question, lol. I took Bear to the vet the other day&she said he was 2.45lbs already! He's only seven weeks old, so does this mean that my Yorkie will be really big? Of course I have no problem if he is - I will love him regardless!!! - but I'm just curious to see your guys' opinion on this. |
Sounds like he'll be in the 8 pound range (triple the weight at 8 weeks) but he's really too young to get an accurate estimate. Doubling the weight at 12 weeks seems to be more accurate but still only an estimate. Yorkies are famous for defying the growth charts :D. |
From everything I have read here on YT it appears that adult weight is always a guessing game.:D Some have said that by "rule of thumb" they should have had a "teapot" Yorkie. Their baby grew during its younger months and then stopped. Others have said that their Yorkie grew later and they have a "teapot" that they didn't expect. A guessing game at its best.:D |
If I had to guess...I'd bet that you will have a good-sized Yorkie! |
If I had to guess , I would say you'll have unconditional love from the pup no matter his weight . |
my pup was about that size (2.3 lbs at 8 weeks). now at 17 wks she is 5.5 lbs, that might give you an idea, but like everyone said all yorkies are different (and mine is a mix). |
