teapot !!! Oh my goodness ,Cooper my slightly over standard size at 7.4 LBS. had to go to the vets today. I just found out Cooper is now a teapot Yorkie weighing in at 9 lbs!!!! And I thought I wasn't over feeding him .. gee  |
Betty says, "Welcome to Teapot Land!!" :D |
Cooper and I thank you!!! |
I have a feeling Storm is going to be a wonderful little teapot too...LOL...as long as he does not get so heavy that I cannot pick him up....we are okay |
Aw he's just eating real good food! Teapots are adorable!!! |
Does anyone know off-hand the weight ranges at which we consider the dog toy, teacup, teapot, etc...? Just outta curiosity :D |
Just learning on this site... never heard of "teapot" size before... it is for real or you just made it up right now? Are there people really classifying their sizes and using this word? Mine is 5 pounds about what is he called? |
There are lots of threads started about teacup and teapot . Lots of breeders claim to have teacup yorkies. There really is no such thing as teacup ,they just have tiny pups. The teapot started out as a joke from someone on here I think that had a slightly larger then standard size yorkie and I just think its a cute term for the ones that are a little larger. |
I love the term "teapot." Think it is very endearing. Glass china teapots are beautiful so that is what I think about when I hear the term "teapot." Now, again, when I hear "teacup" I don't have a positive reaction. Too much negative about it anymore. |

Cooper, welcome to the Teapot Club!!!! More to cuddle...:cheer: |
I also have a 9 lb teapot! |
Layla Welcome to Da Club :wavey: Maggie is a 10 #er. :p |
aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh I think Tink is heading that way, she is 6lbs 4oz at 5 months. She is so cute and cuddly, but a slim thing under all her fur.:) |
hehehe Layla just seemed to have a growth spurt before she hit a year. At 10 months she was 5 lbs, and then about 4 months later I took her in and my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw 9 lbs! |
I love teapots :) |
Same thing with Maggie, one visit she was 7 #s and the next vet visit she was 9 #s Maggie says the scale is off. :sidesplt: Bailey is still a treat away from 4 #s. and she's 3 1/2 yrs. Same mom and dad. |
We call Tink our 'TEA URN' with the weight she currently is. :) (6lb 4oz - 5 mths old) :aimeeyorkShe was putting on weight at a rate of 7oz a week a few weeks back, but it has slowed to 2-3 oz a week now, thank goodness. I was worried we were having to have to make the doors wider for her at the rate she was growing!;) |
Speaking of teapot, I thought I'd share this with you guys... I was seaching puppies on kijiji a couple weeks ago (everyone in my office is looking for the perfect puppy for a coworker!) and someone had posted a 7 month old yorkie who was 7 lbs. They said he was a good dog, but they didn't want to keep him as he had grown "considerably larger" than they were hoping! Oh my gosh! I wanted to save him but I can't handle another dog, but I did tell my coworker about him. But when we went back to reply to the ad, it was gone. I hope enough people reamed the owners out for it! |
