microchip or not hello i am getting my two boys fixed tomorrow and have been debating getting the microchip for them. i have heard they may cause tumors and the vet says they would not do it if it were not safe...not the answer i was looking for, however thats what he told the receptionist and i will have a discussion with him in more detail i wonder if anyone here has any information on the ediap MICRO CHIP as this is the kind they use there i have heard that some readers only read certain microchips etc... thank you for any responses :animal-pa:animal-pa |
we microchip, get a great feeling of comfort in knowing if they were to run off,, get loose ,, they could be tracked back to me,, or i could prove they are mine,, we've had no problems with them and feel they are safe,, ours are AVID microchips:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Both of mine are mircochipped and any future pet we own will be as well! |
Ellie is not chipped and will never be. I wonder if in a few years they will be connected to disease because it is a foreign body which can't be healthy. I don't think there is a big concern of tumors though. Tumors can happen from any injection (like vaccines). |
Mine are both chipped |
thank you all for your quick replies thats my concern too about something foreign in their bodies and causing health issues down the road :animal-pa:animal-pa |
My mentor is using microchips to identified his little ones . In 15 years , he never had little ones that were sick or had tumor or cancer . I am using this method and never had problems so I'll continue to use microchips. |
My Chi is microchipped because it was required when we moved to Hawaii. I recently read an article on LiveScience.com that said that microchips have been causing cancer in lab mice&rats. I really regret getting my Chi microchipped, because I don't want her to get cancer. I will NOT be getting Bear microchipped. I don't want to risk it. It's just not worth it in my opinion. |

Microchip I to have been afraid of the effects later down the road this is a great topic and I would like to hear what kind is used most. for those of you who feel microchipping is safe what kind do you use??? |
Everything has certain risks, but after reading the studies, I believe that there is much more to be gained than lost with the microchip. |
Both my cat & my yorkie are chipped. I believe the pros outweigh the cons....just my opinion. :) |
2 weeks ago , Selena escaped from my home . 12 hours later , I received a phone call telling me that she was at a vet clinic . I went and picked her up , I also asked for the name and phone of the person who found her . Needless to say that I gave a gift to this wonderful old woman . |
