Puppymill Puppy?? I just recently purchased a new puppy off of puppyfind. I talked with the breeders asked all the questions ect and everything seemed to have checked out. I am having my little girl shipped to me this coming Sunday and I was on puppyfind again today looking and noticed that these breeders have new puppies online so I was looking at the pictures of them and in the background of some of them you can see cages of puppies in what looks to be a garage. They look dirty and scared and now I am so nervous about getting this little girl. I am assuming that I can not get my money back and say that I don't want this puppy now. But what can I do to protect my current yorkies from getting any illnesses from the new one? I plan on taking the new puppy to the vet on Monday and I already have flea treatment on hand to put on her as soon as I give her a bath when I get her home. Do you think that I will end up with a puppy that has psychological problems? What are the worst case scenarios when you get a puppy that is from a puppy mill? I feel sick to my stomach after seeing these new pictures! |
Try to relax. I am sure she is precious. You are already a Yorkie Mom, so it will be no different. I say once you get her, give her a bath and clean her up and then off to your Vet appt. for wellness check. However, if you are really uncomfortable, than see if you can get a refund. :( |
I agree with TLC. I would isolate her until she is checked atthe vet for kennel cough and any parasites. Good luck and hopefullyshe will be fine. |
Just look at the thousands of little dogs who come from deplorable conditions living outside in a mill for much of their lives only to have the mills shut down and these little ones finding loving home. They have to learn what everything is since the only thing they knew was an outside cage void of humans, love, medical care, good food, toys and so one. They do wonderfully after being adopted and your new baby will too! Just get her to the Vet. and try to take a stool sample with you so they can check for parisites. Did you get a contract? It would be good if you did so they are responsible for any serious medical problems. I'm sure things will work out fine, but be prepared to have Vet. bills if she has really bad inner breeding. If you have serious doubts about getting her, then see if you can get your deposit back. |
