Cuddly but not that affectionate! I have a boy who is the most the cuddly puppy! He wants to be held, pet and snuggles with me ALL THE TIME! Hes always in my lap, hes always wanting to be picked up, he rests his head on my shoulder and snuggles there. But out of both my boys, he is not that affectionate with me. I feel a stronger emotional connection with my more independant boy than with my snuggly boy. Its so weird! Hes stingy with kisses and he never looks me in the eyes when I talk to him. My other boy does not cuddle too often but he kisses me all the time and when I talk to him he looks me in the eyes and I see all the love and adoration in the world there! Even other people have commented on how he looks at me! But my snuggly baby is not that way at all! Isn't that so strange? |
maybe its one of those thing you want what u dont have??? I bet a few people on here deal with the same thing. Good Luck. |
My Joe LOVES to be close and snuggle and loved up. He REFUSES to kiss. Its almost like he is disgusted with the thought of licking someone. If you try to smooch his face, he turns his head in disgust. I dont understand it because all 4 of my other babies love to give kisses. |
Jake is a snuggle bunny, he LOVES to snuggle! He sleeps right up against my chest at night. Or, if I lay on the couch to watch tv, he is right there with me. He loves kisses and loves his tummy rubbed. Jackson is snuggly too, but on HIS terms. It's like he's too "busy" to be snuggling, he's got things to do.:rolleyes: But, let me pick Jake up and snuggle him, and here comes Jackson demanding his snuggles too! He is more of a kisser, always wants kissess. He sometimes snuggles with me and goes to sleep, but he ends up moving to the bottom of the bed (or couch) and sleeps next to my legs. Jake has to be right next to mommy all night though. |
Enjoy them each for their individual differences; I love snugglers, lucky you. Looking in the eyes is an assertive act; and puppy may not feel confident enough yet to do that. |
Each pup is an individual -- that's what's so great about Yorkies and small dogs in general. My Archie is not a kisser AT ALL-- and, like you, I was dissapointed by that. But, like your baby, he is a big-time snuggler. After at first feeling deprived, I realized that his snugglyness is HIS way of showing affection. He is always glued to me, on my shoulder, on my lap, wedged between me and the armrest. I think your baby IS showing affection, just in another way. |
