OMG he is sooooooo dead!!!! My computer has no sound, okay I didn't think much of it....then right now I was typing and Maxx was at my feet, I heard chewing and THEN I saw a wire dangling....YUP he chewed my audio wire!!! It is built into the monitor, so nothing I can just unplug & replace!!! Hubby didn't want a dog in the first place, and gets mad enoguh with the chewing and peeing/pooping but this he'd kill the dog, I swear!!! Sooooooo I have an emergency computer tech on his way as we speak to splice the wire back together & all.....hope it works!!!! Sooooo freaked out! And can't imagine when the actual damage was done, I mean it is a thin wire, maybe one bit was all it took? I don't know!!! Will the chewing ever stop, he was over 20 toys I think....ha ha  |
good thing he didn't get hurt. I've had a couple phone chargers chewed through... You really ought to put him in an x-pen or crate when you can't 100% supervise him..it'll stop unwanted accidents and chewing on things he shouldn't be. Then when you are supervising him, you can quickly correct him if he goes to do something he's not supposed to. Puppies really can't help what they aren't taught...it takes a lot of patience, supervision, and training before you can trust them |

Both my yorkies have eaten thru wires to the computer, to the ps2 to the blow dryer and... It can happen so fast one minuet there right there by your side and the next there in to something natughy. Good luck, I did find with my husband if I told him the truth (as long soon as he was in a good mood) that he was not as mad as if he found it himself. |
I had the same problem with Ava when she was a puppy. Luckily she out grew her wire chewing faze after I replaced a printer cable, mouse, and keyboard. What scared me more than thinking my whole computer was fried was the possibility of her chewing a wire that was plugged in and had electricity running through it. The computer was left off when no was using it. If only I could find a way do stop the shoe faze. She will hunt for shoes to chew and find the one shoe not picked up. |

Slade is a chewer too. I try to supervise him at all times he's out.. but he'll be doing good, playing with his toys.. and then I'll get distracted.. next thing I know he's chewing something he shouldn't. He has a couple baskets of over 100 toys to choose from. Still he chooses the one thiing he shouldn't chew! Lately it has been a basket of pinecones mom has by the couch! |
When Bella was younger and would chew on things she shouldnt, instead of punishing her I would distract her. I let something drop like water bottle cap. She loooooves those. She runs off with it like she won a prize! I still do it now sometimes if i see her take off with a napkin that fell. I will let something i dont need like the cap fall and she hears it. I just pretend like I dont see her. She is clueless..lollol:D |
Aww, I'm sorry. Luckily Maddie has only ever chewed one cord and it was my fault for not watching her. Good luck getting it all fixed! |
Kayla is 10mo. old and the breeder said she would chew for a couple of more months. She has almost destroyed everything. She sleeps with us and on Saturday when we wanted to sleep in, she got mad because she wants everybody up. She chewed the sheetrock above the bed. We also found a place behind the kitchen table. I have just the opposite with my husband. This (his) little darling does no wrong. Those little bratty schnauzers did it. (he only teasing, he loves them to death too.) I hope we survive the next two months. |
