She's gone This weekend I took my baby Mika to her mother in Atlanta. It did my heart good to see my daughter living well, and near her new job. I know this is what mothers were made for, but I am now in an empty nest, and my Mika is gone. Amber says she is adjusting well. It's a town house set up with no back yard, but there is a dog park for the entire community. :( I had to get rid of Mika's bed this morning, I can't stand to look at it without her rolling over for her belly rub. SHe's not running up to greet me or tossing her favorite toy around. I don't even want to go home this evening:( |
Awww *hugs* is there an option for you to get your own lil bundle of yorkie love? |
Oh, I am so sorry you had to go thru this. Would you consider getting one of your own? Hugs to you. :) |
I really would love to, but I travel a lot, and I just don't know. Right now, I just don't feel there is a "substitute" for Mika, I love her so much. You know how it is, you get to know their little ways and their personality and it seems no other yorkie will do. |
i think itll just take time for you to get use to being without her. of course, since its all very new you're hurt and sad. I think time will heal your pain. and then maybe if you have room in your life you can get another, not as a replacement but as a companion |
We took care of our daughter's 2 (and our 2) for 6 mths until they were ready to go to live with her in Hawaii (quarantine restrictions) ...the day we had to send them there I cried all the way to the airport and all the way back...At least I know they are with my daughter and poor girls, living in Hawaii, I should be so lucky...The nice thing for you to know, is that Mika is with family and you will get updates and photos and much more...It just takes time...;) |
I really don't relish the idea of starting out with another one and going through all the baby stuff. WHen Mika turned 1, it just seemed like she "got it" about everything, and was then such a delight to be around. |

That's a thought |
Awww sweetie I'm sending you BIG hugs! I know you miss your babies (human and skin). You'll start feeling better about it soon. Let me know if you need to talk! |
Aww I hope you can get one of your own, you seem like you have so much love to give. I would look into a rescue they can be great dogs |
The final bell has rung for the day and it is now time to go home, but I don't want to .. I don't want to face a house with no MIKA |
The house seems so empty and lifeless. There's no one to let out or play with or cuddle with. I called my daughter in ATL about 6 times yesterday to ask "what is Mika doing?" I even had her put the phone to her ear so I could talk to her. I have gone off the deep end. I begged daughter to let me have her back and she said NO!!!! |
1 Attachment(s) This is one of the last pictures I took of her. This is Mika with her cow. |
Awww, BIG hugs to you:girl_hug: |
awwww my heart breaks for you! Was Mika your daughters dog? Did you know that one day she would not be with you anymore? Im so sorry your heart is broken, mine would be too! :( (((HUGS))) Do you have other dogs? Do you think you would get a yorkie someday? |

In my mind, she would always be with me until she got married, then that meant Mika would be with me too......she showed me!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I think I am going to have to get one of my own. |
I'm so sorry it has been so hard to let Mika go -- I think not only are you sad to see her go, but the symbolization of what she means - that your daughter is not dependent on you. How hard, I'm a single mom, with one daughter - she's 18, just finished her first yr in college & off to Australia to study at the Univ. of Melbourne for a mth & work on a water sustainability project -- it's killing me that she isn't here and every time she proves she doesn't need me :( But we want to raise independent, smart, go-getters - that's where you can find your solace -- you did a great job being her mom! |
awwww it must have been so hard for you to give Mika to your daughter, but at least she is still in the family, and you can see her and hear all about her!:) Maybe you need a little yorkie of your own.;) |

awww, it must have been so hard for you! Too bad you couldn't have made a deal with your daughter: You keep Mika and get your daughter a new Yorkie puppy! |

I don't think she would have gone for that one. We are both bonded to Mika and her unique personality. The people on this site helped us to raise her, stayed with us the night she was lost, helped when she was eating poop, helped with crate training, helped with her nipping at us, told us about CET chews that have her teeth so lovely, and a million other things. We have gotten her to a point with your help that she is quite the little lady., My daughter in a new city with a new job, and a new picky roommate has the right dog for the right situation, she ain't giving her up for love nor money. |
