I hope you have a "sleep aide" as good as mine! Just had to express this somewhere...... :snore: I've noticed I fall asleep so well lately. I drift off without a care in the world. No more trying to shut my mind down at the end of my (very stressful lately) day. I have the best stress-eliminator/sleep inducer ever. As soon as my head hits the pillow, Coby crawls up to the pillow and wraps his body around my head from my chin to the top of my head. He winds his nose through my hair and sometimes lays his head on my forehead. Then he lets out ….. the HUGEST BIGGEST SSSSIIIIGGGGHHHH. When Coby sighs and releases all of his stress, he also releases all mine. It’s hard to explain, but I would swear that he is one of God’s angels and has taken on the responsibility of helping me let go of my trouble at day’s end. With his sigh, we both nearly immediately go limp and drift off to a refreshing rejuvenating sleep. :angelyork My hubby got to experience it once (apparently I need more help than he does) and couldn’t believe the magic in it. ……….. and then in the morning, if little Yorkie kisses don’t wake me, he turns in his “God’s angel” hat and wakes me by sitting his butt square on my face!! I love him so much! :luv: |
awww sounds like I need a big ssssiiiggggghhhhhh too! I use a sheet spray with lavendar in it to help me wind down. |
I know how you feel. Archie sleeps in his crate, but usually gets in bed with me a couple of hours before it's time to wake up (at our first early-morning potty break). BUT, I've discovered if I'm having trouble sleeping, I'll put him in the bed with me and in 15 minutes I'll be off to dreamland. I think it has something with him snuggling so tightly to my leg, with his little nose tucked under me. He makes these little (I call them) "snookie" noises as he settles in. His little body is SOOOOO warm and he is just the sweetest thing in the world! |
Since pets aren't allowed in bed, I snuggle with Hot Rod on couch and hold him for a while until he's sound asleep, sometimes I hold him for a real long time then I set him in his crate/pen for the night. I'm usually right behind and go to bed stress free. |
Glad you guys are also taking advantage of this drug-free marvel! ;) I've always believed the information stating petting a dog (or animal) can immediately lower blood pressure. sssiiiiggghhh............. |
I can't sleep with my yorkie, as she's being crate trained, but I will say that I spent the (well worth it) exorbent amount of money on my dream lap dog to relieve stress in my life. Boy has she done the trick. My furbaby has worked miracles to distract us from the months of sadness of my father-in-law having terminal cancer. We have so much sadness in our home (with 3 kids) and she has brought a tremendous amount of joy. We are slapped with reality quite often, but she's right there to comfort us. It's been great for the kids too :) Dogs are such wonderful creatures, aren't they? They give us so much, and we return their love with lot of hugs, kisses and treats :) |
i love it when sophie sighs. it makes me feel she is content with me. i feel like i have been a good mommy to her. we lay down in bed and immediately finds a nice spot to squeeze her little body in, sometimes -- i can hold her in my arms, and she'll stay there all night. ..until she wakes up bright and early at 5 in the morning. |

And while not everyone believes in sleeping with their pets, mine have always been crate trained before "bed trained". Luckily Reggie prefers the foot of the bed while Coby prefers the "people area" ;). The cat comes in sometimes in the morning. I think we need a bigger bed! |

aww thats soo sweet. I can't sleep without Meeko! |
My sentiments exactly with Winston....he sleeps just like Coby it sounds.....on my neck wrapped around my face. He is like a little angel:) The only problem tonight...as you can see it is late.....Winston and i fell asleep on the couch before Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters....and now I am having trouble sleeping...Winston isn't though ....he's on his favorite spot on the bed ....the heating pad....Sweet Dreams Everybody!! |
When Jamie started sleeping with me I scooted down in the bed and put and extra pillow above mine. Now he climbs on top of my head, circles around a couple of times, lays down in a ball and wiggles his nose into my hair at bedtime. I sleep with one hand above my head and pet him til we fall asleep. I sleep so much better all night. Then in the morning about 30 minutes before we get up he crawls down beside me and paws at the covers. I pick them up and he gets under them and snuggles beside me til we have to get up. It makes me smile every morning! |
I will not kill another thread! LOL! Bumping this up so more people can share... |
what a story. |
