Update on Fabio! HE'S HOME! So my lil one came home yesterday morning! The vet never found out what was wrong with him, which worries me. They performed a pancreatitis exam, xrays and ect. There was nothing found in any of them. But my baby is back to his normal self. Hes excited again to see me and I have been loving him up every since hes been home! The vet I saw really helped us out with the bill also. He was there three nights and we were only charged for one and alot of other things she helped us out with to keep our bill within our budget. So she was a Godsend. I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts. It was greatly appreciated. And it helped him get better! Thanks to you all! |
so glad your baby is home safe! That is great that the vet is willing to help you, you don't see that very often. d |
Sometimes no news really is good news...and I just love happy endings. |
I'm sure that you are so relieved right now. Keep us updated. Now, go snuggle with that little guy. After all he's been through the past few day he needs it (and so do you). |
Oh, I am so glad on both accounts. Please give him a hug for me! |
I'm glad he's better and back home with you. :):aimeeyork |
I'm so thankful that little Fabio is better and back home!! ;) May God continue to bless you both. |
Good to hear! |
Wow, what a nice vet!! Congrats that your little one is well!:) |
I'm curious...did his white blood cell count go back down to normal??? |
Awesome! So glad he's home, safe and sound and also that the vet was so reasonable! I'll bet you're so relieved! |
Great on all accounts!!! |
Lily, his white blood cell count did go down, alot. He actually got sick again the second night he was home, so we came to the conclusion it was his food and changed it immediatly. Since then he hasnt been sick. So we decided it must have been his food. With the new food he hasnt been sick. So my baby is back to his normal self. |
WOW, that is GREAT NEWS!!!! So glad to hear your little man is doing well.... d |
Would you mind telling us what food made him sick? Had he been on it for a while or was it something new to him? I am so happy to hear he is well again. And your vet sounds great. |
Glad to read that your baby is back home with you. That was very nice of your vet to give you a break on the bill. That dosen't happen very often. I am so happy he's now doing fine. |
I'm happy to hear he is back home with you! |
We think his food may have been old. We aren't sure because we took it out of the bag and into a dog food container. The vet says sometimes food can go back quicker than you think. We only had it about 3 months and It had gone bad because we brought it in and got it tested. She recommened a new diet preferably a homemade one. And I think I may do that because I don't really trust dog food much anymore after our scare. I don't think its anything anyone should be worried about. We kept his food in the garage and the climate down here is crazy, hot, cold, hot, cold. The vet said that has alot to do with it and we are keeping his food inside now. Anyone got any recommendations on what to start him out on with a homemade diet? |
we definitely keep ours in climate control..... well, we keep EVERYTHING in climate control down here.... hehe I dont have any suggestions for your home cooking but there are MANY here who can... if you check out the health/diet section there are a bunch who home cook for their babies... good luck! I am so glad fabio is back home with you! d |
Yea, we thought keeping it in the garage was ok, apparently not. We should have known with this crazy weather you know! Tootie, PM! |
Glad you figured out what Fabio's problem was. It's stressful when our furbabies are sick.:( One of the things I have learned on YT is that dog food can become rancid. I have also learned that all the dog food needs to be emptied from the container before new dog food is filled in. These are things I had never thought of. Your discovery is a reminder. Thanks. |
I never knew how truly fragile they really are. And this has really opened my eyes. I am going to keep a closer watch from now on. My baby doesn't live with me, he lives with my boyfriend. Thankfully it is only an hour away and I go see him every weekend and 1 night during the week. He does take very good care of him, but I miss him! And its hard for me to keep such a close eye on him as I did when I had him. Don't get my wrong, Luke takes GREAT care of him, but he didn't think of the dog food being in the garage would be a bad thing, then again neither did I. I just had a closer watch on him when he was with me and I miss that! So i am not in control as much as I once was, and you know how women like control! LOL! |
